Replacing the default FSX trees

Featured Replies

Hi all :)I have TreeX for FSX, but I haven't really noticed a huge difference in what the trees look like. Is there a better addon out there to produce better quality FSX trees?Cheers.

I find a huge difference with TreeX from the low quality to the high quality. Can you even notice enough difference to be able to tell if it is working at all?

It doesn't really look like it's replacing the textures

I use the "Genreloaded" trees found in flightsim.com's file library, I would post a link but can't get to the flightsim.com website from work...

Good Day,Anyone know of files that will change the scale of the default trees and not just the texture...... TreeX high quality textures look good but scale still a problem ...I Have tried all files I can find on the major sites that change the original default trees but still they seem to be way out of scale to the real world.... In many cases much larger than surrounding multi story buildings..... Used a file in FS9 that reduced the scale and generated more trees but this seems not to work in FSX..... Finally have a computer that will run FSX at fluid frame rates with sliders maxed...... Replaced other textures with GEX and Ultimate Terrrain but the overly large trees ruin the effect when they pop up .....Thanks,JayDub

Check my post above yours... Just search for "tree" in the flightsim.com file library and it's on that list. I would give a direct link but I can't get to flightsim.com from my work computer...The trees I use have been resized so that they aren't so huge and they look alot better!

Hi,Thanks, I thought I had tried Genreloaded Trees but will find and reload the file again.... Have almost lost track of all the tweaks and changes.... Just starting out again with FSX and new computer, bought FSX the first day it was available in stores but my old AMD 3500+ couldn't really handle it to my satisfaction so i removed it after the first week..... I stayed with FS9 and that program is now up to a total of 94GB of scenery, aircraft and panels so I have a long way to go with FSX.....JayDub
