Hello,I'm thinking to buy Samsung SSD, and just wondering if someone has tried it, and what kind of performance you would expect in terms of FPS.

I doubt it will impact your frame rate much. What it very well may do is smooth things out by eliminating stuttering and/or blurries caused by bottlenecked texture loads from disk. Frame rate is driven by the combined throughput of your CPU, DRAM, and GPU. The Samsung SSDs seem to be getting a decent reputation--they don't have the problem with skunky JMicron controller chips that have given many of the early-generation SSDs a real black eye.I have an Intel SSD on order and hope to get some hands-on insight on real-world pros and cons of the technology with FS in the next few weeks.CheersBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

Thanks Bob, I look forward for your review before I splurge on an SSD.

Hi,This movie may answer your question......

Can't speak for Samsung SSD's though but this is what we at our company experienced with several different SSD's:1. When the SSD runs out of space the data transfer dropped as low as 384kB per second2. Writing massive data to the SSD (write, erase, write again, etc.) sometimes caused the M$ operating systems (XP and Vista) to crash3. Writing massive data to the SSD (write, erase, write again, etc.): after a while transfer rates may dropThe only ones seem to have a solution for this might be the guys from Intel. But we did not test it - yet :(
