Is there any scenery to make flights from Anchorage - Seattle/Portland/Medford Any better?

Featured Replies

I love flying from PANC - KSEA and Seattle-Portland but I've been dissapointed that no one has made any scenery for these airports. What would be perfect is if someone made an Alaska Airlines repaint or aircraft for when I fly PANC-KSEA, a Horizon Airlines Plane for when I fly Seattle to Portland, and any scenery in between. I've been looking for a while and cant find any thing to enhach these flights. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pay ware or Free ware! FSX Seriously Anything to make the flights more fun. I don't have anything installed now. ~ Thanks!*Scenery in or around PANC,KSEA,KPDX?*Alaska Airlines 737?*Horizon Airlines Dash 8?If someone wanted to I would pay big money for a PANC airport scenery...

WoAI freeware has the full livery of Alaska and Horizon models available, including the colorful Alaska Disneyland and salmon paint schemes.http://www.world-of-ai.com/While these are AI aircraft, they can be made flyable simply by adding a panel folder. You may be able to find some authentic panels in the flightsim site libraries, or take the easy way to get started and alias to an existing panel. For example, to use the default 737 panel, the panel folder needs only a panel.cfg file containing two lines:[fltsim]alias=simobjects\airplanes\b737_800\panel\This will make the plane available in the Aircraft Selection menu, although without an image. To create an image, take a screen shot of the plane, resize it to around 256 x 128 (not critical) and save it as thumbnail.jpg in the texture folder for that aircraft variant. Or search for autothumbnail.zip and use that tool. These AI models were never intended to be hand-flyable, so the handling characteristics are not great. But with a little practice, they work OK. Or if you mainly care about sightseeing, setup a flight plan and let the autopilot do the work while you sit back and enjoy the scenery. If you also want sound, create a sound folder with a sound.cfg file and use the same alias trick to link to an existing aircraft sound. As for great scenery enhancements along that route, search for Bella Coola and Victoria Plus freeware and Vancouver Plus payware.John

Repaints of the default exist. I'm sure there are/were some in the Avsim library, but until that's back online, you can try flightsim.comJon
