Rerouting

Featured Replies

Hy all!!!History:Dep : LFMNArr : LFLCBut during flight for some several reasons I had to reroute on Lyon (LFLL).....I had from LFLL APP, the runway in service but IMPOSSIBLE to modify my new routing on the FMC. Trying everywhere, inserting the new airport ICAO code, even the ILS Frequency of the runway....but with no results!!!! I really needed for my landing as it was a foggy day!Even on the FIX page, I did write the airport ICAO code, with the distance.....but it didn't change at all !So my my following question is : How do you set a new airport of destination during cruising?thank youbest regards

What plane? what flight sim version?Oddly the info is missing, along with your name (sign posts please).John Ellison

Sorry, I realise when I shut down the pc that I forgot to specify the type of aircraft!!! ^^It is the PDMG 747-400 for FS9Thank youAurelien

The trick is the FMS will not allow modification to the segment that you are in... see AOM 12.35 for route modifications. Changing the destination is as easy as changing the ICAO in the destination field on route page one. I put her on HDG HOLD while making the changes then manually change the HDG towards the next fix I want to fly to on the new route (if required) before putting her back in LNAV (be sure to EXEC the changes).
