June 12, 200916 yr Apologies if the question has already been asked, I've done a search and couldn't find an answer. Is it possible to integrate the RXP weather radar with the RealAir Duke in the VC?. The RXP Wx500 is a good representation of the real weather radar used in the Duke, and using cockpit layup #3 there seems to be enough space to install it.I have tried modifying the panel.cfg file but without siccess. Cockpit layup seems to be controlled from elswhere. Thanks
June 12, 200916 yr You should just be able to place the gauge in the VC using coordinates. You'd have to experiment though. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

June 13, 200916 yr Thanks, I tried but the panel.cfg doesn't seem to control it. I will keep tryingThe Duke panel config installs the GNS gauges but not the weather radar. But if you open your Duke panel cfg file after installing the GNS 530 for example, you will see entries for its co-ordinates which will give you a clue about where to place the weather gauge. It might be possible also to install it using the RXP native configurator but I am not certain about this.Rob - RealAir Robert Young - retired full time developer - see my Nexus Mod Page and my GitHub Mod page

If you modify the panel.cfg to replace the GNS530 by the Wx500, the Wx500 screen will replace the GNS530 screen, but the bezel (surrounding buttons) will still be those of the GNS530, see screen capture.
June 16, 200916 yr Yeah thats because the gauge bezel is 3D - I would try putting the weather radar onto the blank space in the VC. June 17, 200916 yr I tried but it doesn't show up throgh the blank space for some reason I don't understandSadly, It's not just a simple matter of placing it in an empty space and expecting it to show up.Unlike a 2D panel, where you are placing a gauge on top of a bitmap, VC's are built differently. In most virtual cockpits, the gauges are "mapped" onto either an invisible, flat polygon or a 3d object - just as if it were a texture. That polygon is generally the same size and shape as the gauge being mapped to it. If there is no polygon to map it onto, then it won't show up.Just placing the weather radar in the general area you want it to appear won't work. There has to be a surface there for it to be mapped to.- Alex

A pity really that they don't because I have seen photos of the real aircraft and it was installed
