Fictional Airport David Marshall Field

Featured Replies

I can't help but notice all the posts by David "OPA" Marshall. They are a great source of technical help. So just for grins, someone who is experienced with airport ought to build David an airport. Could call it David Marshall Field or Marshall Field, Airport code could be KOPA. This code isnt used for any other airport, I checked. I think the OPA kinda got me started on this. Anyway just a thought. Add a little humor to the forum.Don't ask me to do it, I can't draw a line with pencil and paper let alone the computer.John

OPA International Airport? I like it!! Now where do we place this super-duper airport? Must ponder location.... :(

Mr. Marshall's contributions to the flight sim community, above and beyond forum posts. are far to numerous to list. With the library still out of action I suggest a visit to flightsim.com's library where a search of "opa" had over 100 returns, not all David's, but most are.In addition to his tips and tricks series he has several tutorials and has been involved in many scenery addons. Some of my favorites are his additions to the state of Oregon.Another is a fictional place known as "Opa's Campground" - the filename is opacgrnd.zip and it is also highly recommended. He is truly an asset to our community and I have always found him to be a gentleman.David, thanks for all you have given us and best wishes to you and yours.Joe

Absolutely, I second the idea!In addition to what Joe has said, Opa is always extremely helpful and never tires of answering our various questions even if asked many times before. I have never seen him saying "There is a search engine you know" or "Read the manual"...Indeed a gentleman and a true FS addict... I, too, wish you the very best David and I hope to see you for many many years on the AVSIM forums!

Hmmmm OPA InternationalThat has a nice ring to it.Better than David Marshall Field or Marshall Field.OPA International just sorta runs right of your tongue like it was meant to be.Any one know where David Lives? That might be a good place to build his airport.John

Opa lives in the Dallas, TX. area, so with DFW near by, they don't need another airport. Maybe one of the islands in the Caribbean?
