June 17, 200916 yr I seem to recall that in FS2002 I was able to designate a gate as my origination point when starting a VFR flight. Could be wrong. That enabled me to practice using ground control to direct me to the active rwy. I am, after all, a complete newbie and need repetition to hammer procedures into my skull.I haven't found a way to do that in FS9. Is it necessary to make my flight IFR to get ground control to work for me?Thanks, Mudhen
June 17, 200916 yr either select a parking place when you select an airport, or save at the spot, and reload the flight.

June 18, 200916 yr Author Since my heart surgery it looks like my eyesight has gone south too. I didn't notice the scroll bar on the runway selection list. I scrolled down and - holy moley - there must be 25 gates, ramps, GA, military, whatever I want - places to start from. Thanks for the pic David. Just what I needed.Gary I always figure a picture is worth a thousand words - use the drop down menu arrow as seen on the attached screenshot of a typical Go To Airport dialogue.
