Hello AllI have the Bill Grabowski Panel installed on all my ERJs.I added some wing views(strange ones the wing moves but not the view)anyway with any wing view I dislike the rear view if it is just a pair of disembodied wings(which this set is).I have managed with other aircraft(with the disembodied) by tinkering about to add a cabin view(or flight deck door ) from another aircraft, but despite mucho tinkering file moving CFG altering and reviewing of results have had no joy with the ERJ .I have two cabins I could add one from PFokker and another one(not strictly accurate, but better than the disembodied wing thing. Is there anybody out there who has done this and if so could pass the info on to me?I include the panel CFG so you may get some ideas.; Hello JimI had a look at your article on the installation of a VC (I will have to take my time over that i think :( )I did however add your little panel mods for doors, stairs,GPS and kneeboard. The only problem is that your icons are now sitting over some of my own I.E. Rob,s pushback,Cockpit Commander(not fully functional in this panel but still good for course and heading)etc although that's not a real problem just a matter of re-positioning the icons slightly.PS I think you may have misunderstood what I was trying to do.All I wanted was to add a cabin view or door just to block out the disembodied wings when using hat switch to pan round and look to the rear. Its not a real problem, but I do get obsessed with the smallest of things sometimes .cheers Andy

I didn't misunderstand you (unless maybe I'm still misunderstanding?), I was just offering an alternative. ...but I thought that the Grabowski panel came with the side and rear view .bmps anyway? Remember the "serial killer" co-pilot in the right hand view?Anyway, just trying to help, skip it if it looks like more of a hassle than you're interested in dealing with. :)Jim

How about adding a VC instead Andy:http://www.cat-tamer.com/flightsim/forums/...topic&id=16Jim
Hi Jim,Re: Posky ER145 Installation ProjectWindows XP seems to have ignored Clipboard. At any rate I can't find it. Is there a work around available as an alternative to using it for installing panel files in Step 5 ?Thanks,Jack

Hello,

Step 5 * As promised, once again extract "os_erj145lr_vc.zip" to your Temp folder * Find the "panel.Bill" folder and move the three "$vc_0x.bmp" files to your "Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\osERJ-145LR_xjet\panel.ERJgrabVC" folder * Open "panel.Bill\panel.cfg" in Notepad * Scroll to the end of the file and copy the three [Vcockpit0x] sections to your clipboard * Open "Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\osERJ-145LR_xjet\panel.ERJgrabVC\panel.cfg" in Notepad * Locate the [Vcockpit0x] sections about midway through the file * Highlight from the beginning of the first [Vcockpit0x] section all the way to the end of the last [Fixed Windowxx] section * Paste in the three [Vcockpit0x] sections previously copied to your clipboard * Return to the beginning of the file, highlight and delete the eight "Fixed WindowXX=" lines * Save the panel.cfg * Empty the Temp folder
Hmmmmm....Clipboard mean also memory ......So you highlight the section you need and with the right mouse button you choice"copy"You highlight the part where you want put the section you saved in memory and with the right mouse button you choice "paste" ...Hope it's help !! superbiggrin.gifRegards.bye.gifGus.

Hello Jim I hope i didn't come across as ungrateful.I have added your door, stair, gps etc so it was worth it for that alone.(all helps with the flying).I have never been a VC fan (they always display a little slowly on my pc)so I will pass on that for the moment, but you have reminded me of that serial killer co-pilot so what i might do is re-download the Grabowski panel and have a look at those panel textures and see if I can have a fiddle with those.I have added some wing views so that may have altered the original viewpoints.Anyway something to tinker with on a fine sunny Sunday.cheers Andy

Hello Jack, don't worry too much about the panel.cfgs because when you get down to the panel mods section there's a download that'll overwrite these panel.cfgs anyway and the ones in the .zip file are all edited and ready to go incorporating the panel mods and everything. What worries me is that the aircraft's not showing up in the menu and I suspect it has to do with the aircraft.cfgs. In the "Config Edits" section of the tutorial did you paste the [fltsim.X] entries from the .zip file into your appropriate aircraft.cfgs? I doubt you'd see the aircraft show up in the menu if you haven't done this yet because there will me no .MDL specified in the aircraft.cfg yet.I just went through the tutorial again and checked out the result in the sim. Seems OK so I'm attaching the aircraft.cfgs that resulted. These are complete and ready to and even have the VClight mod:osERJ-145_acftcfgs.zipJust extract this to your Temp folder and overwrite your existing aircraft.cfgs with these.Keep me posted,Jim

Hi Jim,Bingo !I thought I had pasted the acftcfgs correctly during the installation, but I guess not. Anyway, I reinstalled with the acftcfgs you sent and it worked fine. The panel looks great. Thanks for your help.Jack

I just installed all of your mods, Jim and I must say you have transformed the POSKY ERJ-145 visually. BRAVO!!Now I need some advice on how to correct the miserable flying characteristics of this plane because I am just itching to put it to work at Mountain Air Virtual Airlines. My greatest grief as it came from POSKY:1. Underpowered. 2. Pitchy3. Rolls like an F16 rather than an airliner.4. Wants to continue climbing through the autopilot. So far, I have only tried to change the static thrust and the spoolup number, but I am not really sure of what I am doing. Thanks, again for your incredible work.Verne CottonCo-FounderMountain Air Virtual Airlines(Since 1998)[email protected]
