ATIS on approach

Featured Replies

When on the initial approach fix, or any point along the approach for that matter, why is it that when I tune Com 1 to the ATIS freq of terminal airport I hear zilcho. Whats going on. I need the weather to help plan the approach and can only get ATIS sat at the gate of the departure airport. When should i be looking to tune in pls?ThanksMatt M, so called saddo for liking flight sims. :( oh BTW, this is FSX and the queen i'm talking about. Most recent version in all cases

Hi,I have never had a problem picking up the ATIS for the destination at about 40 miles or so out from the airport. Not sure why you would be having a problem with that.John L

To put it simply, the moment you get cleared to a runway on approach is the moment you can start getting ATIS. :( EDIT: This is of course, when you're flying IFR.

Which airport and what frequency are you using?Do you have any scenery of AFCADs that might have changed that frequency?

Paul Smith.

Along the same line that Paul Smith took, try opening the MSFS map and select the airport to verify the frequency that is used by MSFS.
