June 28, 200916 yr Hi Guys, I recently purchased my MD-11 and it a fantastic piece of software.I have gone through the tutorial several times, changing things here and there basicallytrying to figure out how it works. I also recently joined IVAO and found this to be an amazing addition to the MD-11 as I now feelthat its as real as it can possible get sitting here in my computer room. I can't wait for the advanced tutorial as I need as much help as possible with this hunk of metal. I did have a question but figured it out as I was writing but I have now thought of another ...Are the ILS frequencies different on FSX compared to Navdata on the FMC? I was set up for and ILS RWY28 in Dublin and it tuned 111.35/280 and ILS Untuneable appeared ... on FSX the ILS frequency for RWY28 was 109.90/281 and the same with RWY28 in LSZH Zurich ... There is no RWY28 in FSX only 14/32.. I have read about AFCAD files so thats prob it, so how do I know if I need to update my AFCAD files? ...Help gladly appreciated ... Wesley FoxCan't wait for NGX :-)
June 28, 200916 yr Afraid so, some ils frequencies have changed since fsx came out (2006 data?)You will have a hard job finding which ones as I searched and searched and can't find em lol. Also some airports have changed too, new runways, realigned runways, etc.3 choices, look at the ils in fsx and manually set the fms to that, dig through the navdata and change that, or new afcads.scenery files.KATL has new runways, KSEA has changed ils and has new runways, LIRF has changed ils.... EHAM has just 'changed', EIDW has changed too and I know and can't remember a US airport that has the ils at the wrong end. Plus a few that land you on the 'green' bits.I run fsglobal and that puts SKCL in a 500foot hole in the ground as fsx has a 500 feet error for the height. There are default airports that are in holes too or on a pedestal or in the air lol.Link - http://www.ivao.aero/db/ss/airport.asp?Id=EIDWBy the way I have a corrected Dublin.bgl file, if you want it just pm me your email and I'll pass it on.John Ellison

Like last night when I was vectored for 28 in Zurich and FSX had no ILS for 28 ... it was funny as they had to vector me around 3 times because I didn't realise that the prob was with FSX not the MD-11 :( Anyway did my 1st visual with her ... not easy ... But I fixed Zurich by installing DreamTeams demo so at least I have the ILS now !! So I guess like you, I'll find more as I go along .. If I new a bit more I'd try and fix them as I found them and help the community ...... perhaps I'll look in to that ..Well I'll take the Dublin.blg off you and you can sent it to [email protected] (pm'd it to you)Thanks again John, and If I find anymore I pm you....Wes

I've been emailing it around and I don't know if I already sent it to you or not. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
June 29, 200916 yr What I do when planning a flight from airport x to airport y is to look for freeware airport scenery and updated afcads before I fly.Graham
