June 30, 200916 yr While flying i noticed that all my scenery is blury when i use certain aircraft, for instance when i fly the PSS 757or the PMDG 737, however when i fly the PMDG B1900 or the Aeroworks B200 my scenery is spotless .I have Ultimate Terrain installed on my sim,and various other scenery by Holger Sandman, along with other payware scenery from Blue print, and Fly Tampa. This seems to be at the worst when im 240 knots and higher. The blury's dont happen in the airports. It happens mainley when im flying. By the way I have Active Sky installed to. Any ideas or insite on how to get rid of this from anyone would be greatly appreciated !
June 30, 200916 yr Hello,Maybe the speed of the plane(s) can be involved in your problem ...Regards.Gus.
June 30, 200916 yr Thanks Gus for the reply! That thought had crossed my mind, but realy wasn't certain if that was the case.
June 30, 200916 yr Thanks Gus for the reply! That thought had crossed my mind, but realy wasn't certain if that was the case.Try this. In FS9.cfg, change TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL from default to = 20. This should clear things up a long way in the distance, assuming you haven't done this already. I noticed a big improvement using this tweak.RegardsEddie
June 30, 200916 yr Hello, Try this. In FS9.cfg, change TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL from default to = 20.Allway read and thinkink .. this number was related with the mesh resolution.Maybe I was wrong all those years ?Regards.Gus.
July 1, 200916 yr Yea, that number is related to mesh, specifically what max LOD it will show. 20 is for the 38LOD i believe. As for blurries...at very high rates of speed low to the ground, I think blurries are expected. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
July 2, 200916 yr Actually the Terrain Max Vertex does extend clearer looking ground textures. I saw this fix recommended for blurried UT users on some boards. So I tried it, and I found that it works for me, especially with distant detail. If I could figure how the hell to save print screen shots from FS9, I'd put one up. lolHere's my display cfg section, if you'd like to try it out. I have the vertex cranked way up. Note also the texture maxload line.Ed[DISPLAY]UPPER_FRAMERATE_LIMIT=0TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=800TEXTUREMAXLOAD=10[TERRAIN]TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=10.000000TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=100.000000TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=25TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.000000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9.900000TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4
July 2, 200916 yr I don't believe any numbers matter after 21 as that is the highest LOD that can be displayed by mesh in fs9...maybe 22. It's clearer because the mesh would be sharper with the 20 settings as opposed to the 19 setting, that's probably what you're seeing. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
July 2, 200916 yr If I could figure how the hell to save print screen shots from FS9, I'd put one up. lolGrab youself a copy of a free screen capture program like ScreenHunter -Simple to use and many useful options. You can capture screenshots anytime in any program.Check it out here:http://wisdom-soft.com/products/screenhunter_free.htm

Hey David, one more thing, if you have experience with GE Pro, and the chance to respond. I have GE Pro, and I can't understand how to go from Metars to flying the flight from the selected (real Metars weather added) airports. I am fine getting the real weather conditions at origin / destination, but then when I want to use the selected airports, GE Pro asks if I want to load a saved flight plan. I even loaded a flight matching the orig/dest I selected in GE, but got the partly cloudy default GE conditions. I can't figure out why I am thrown off track after I select orig / dest, and then select Install...sheeeesh.Just doesn't seem like an intuitive process, at least for me, but there must be a working procedure.RegardsEddie
