July 4, 200916 yr Still, I think separate volume controls (in FS itself) for voice and engine noise would be helpful....Scott - there are separate sound controls in Flight Simulator. When you are at the Create a Flight screen, click on Settings, then Sound. Or you can find it through the menu system once you are in the cockpit.Engines adjusts the aircraft's noise levelAir Traffic Control adjusts the pilot and controller's voice levelThere are several other adjustable settings there too. I set all except engines to my preferred level and leave them, and then adjust the engine level according to the aircraft. I find the add-on aircraft I use have a considerable range of volume levels, making it necessary to adjust for each aircraft. I just keep a note of my preferred figures and make it part of my routine to set the volume when I set up the flight.John My co-pilot's name is Sid and he's a star! http://www.adventure-unlimited.org
July 4, 200916 yr Author Great news, Scott.I would guess the reason Ultimate Traffic makes a change is that it needs to cancel out the default commercial traffic and leave just the default GA to complement its own commercial traffic. So it would need to create a new file with the GA flights only and disable the original FS traffic file. It sounds as if something went a bit adrift with that process.Best wishes,JohnIf UT made any changes to the file you can't tell from looking at it. The file size as well as the date and time stamp are exactly the same as the original default file...ScottWhy don't you make your sim experience more realistic and use headphones. Then you can have very realistic volumes and your wife won't be disturbed!!!VoliberistaTrue enough (G)!Scott - there are separate sound controls in Flight Simulator. When you are at the Create a Flight screen, click on Settings, then Sound. Would using headphones as Voliberista suggests make changes more noticeable?Scott
