Installation of MD-11

Featured Replies

I re-downloaded the md-11 for fsx and installed it. But when I open FSX, I get nothing and after a few seconds the simulator disappears. I need help. Thank you.Gerard Toussaint

Did you get any error messages or did FSX just crash to desktop? Was the crash before you selected the aircraft?

FSX just crash to desktop and after I selected the aircraft. I forget to tell you it happened with windows 7.gerard

If hope this works for you Gerard. I say this because in my case my dll.xml was ok. I had to uninstall FSX, uninstall the OS, then reinstall the OS, and reinstall FSX+all SP's, then redownload and reinstall the MD-11. I suspect, that if your dll.xml is fine, then there is some problem with the SxS (windows side-by-side) repository. Since I lack the time to delve into the intricacies of SxS as it relates to PMDG's dll's, I took the bulldozer approach, and it did work.

If you saw dialog boxes that required you to trust the pmdg, and you accepted all of them then perhaps the problem is in the dll.xml file. Try the help ideas here: http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/FSX_Trust_DLL_Policy and here http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/PMDG_...SERS_ONLY.21.29Hope this helps.
I just install the FSUIPC4 4.52 of Pete Dowson. Everything went fine(also works for 747-400X, Level-D 767X). Thank you.Gerard
