July 7, 200916 yr evening everybody,Tonight I have installed the MD11 boxed version in Fs-X.Installation ran ( with administrator rights) as expected and I installed one livery. After the installation I started Fs-X and I got the usual (and expected) warnings about the new dll's and if I wanted to accept them as safe.I did and fs-X started fine. However, when I got into the cockpit of the MD11, I only got the contours of the cockpit but no textures, no gauges. In fact there is also no pulldown menu for the PMDG aircraft.Shutting down the sim and restarting did no good either. Rebooting the PC did not make any difference either. When I tried to start the loadmanager I also got an error stating " the program could not be started because the configuration "side by side" is not correct.Whatever that means....?A bit more info:I am running Fs-X on windows Vista ultimate 64bit.Processor is an E8500 OC'ed to 4.02 Ghz with 4 Gb DDR3.all info welcomeLuc BrusselmansBelgium
July 7, 200916 yr I am only guessing, I think you might have a problem with the C++ runtime modules. There should be both 32b and 64b Visual C++ runtime libraries installed by the pmdg installer. Try running the installer and select repair and see if that helps. Dan Downs KCRP

July 8, 200916 yr Luc, maybe the problem is with the trust dll xml file in fsx. Please see the articles on this issue in the PMDG Ops wiki page at their web site. Hope it helps. Dan Downs KCRP
July 8, 200916 yr Luc, digging around I was able to find another with the same/similar problem - don't know if this will help or not but I'll paste it here.----------------------------------For some inexplicable reason (adding or removing another program in Windows XP Pro/Vista) FS/X will suddenly slow down, stutter, or Crash to Desktop.A quick check of the 'Event Viewer' will show "SIDE BY SIDE" error event ID 59.During installation of FS/X, it installs a C++2005 Redistributable; and this is the part that gets 'corrupted' or 'unattached' (haven't found out why yet)The fix is at Microsoft - download and install 'vcredist_x86.exe'Hope this helps someone.------------------------------------Linkage - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;displaylang=enJohn Ellison

It's obvious that there are two different versions of the C++ redistibuatbles (the 2005 version with sp1 and 2008 version, also with a sp1).I tried the reinstallation of the C++2005 and all is well again...I am happy again...Luc BrusselmansBelgium
