Replacement 2D views for PMDG 737

Featured Replies

Hi.A couple of months ago I made these new cockpit views for the PMDG 737. I was tired of the "plastic looking" default, through which you could hardly see the ground. These new ones have a little more favorable height in viewpoint..Just unrar, add the files in your PMDG-aircraft-panel-folder and overwrite.Make backups before overwriting!(as a precaution I have added the original images in the .rar)enjoy.NOTE: Since the file-library still is offline please download via this link:http://fbportnoy.webs.com/undefined/PMDG_7...replacement.rarThis will be added to the file library when it is back up online.//Johan

I must admit this is an improvement big time... If I was a 2D panel user I'd have to say it's about time. Great job... :(If I may suggest in the first shot you have above it might be better to extend the viewable cockpit a bit. If one was sitting in the pilot's seat looking that way you'd see more of the main panel looking that way. I'm not saying pan down but try looking that way in the VC at the same angle and you'd see what I'm talking about. One thing PMDG didn't do a good job in is placing the eyepoint correctly in the VC. You'd have to adjust your eyepoint in the VC to reflect your sitting directly in front of the yoke in the cockpit seat. You'd have to move the eyepoint up a bit looking straight out the forward window. PMDG's setting has one sitting too low in the cockpit. You also might want to move your eyepoint back a couple of clicks so your not too forward in the seat. Look to your right and you'll see how much of the panel and a bit of the yoke you'd see looking forward right. I just did a flight in the 737NG on Airtran. I got a chance to sit in the cockpit and get a feel for what it's like. PMDG got the VC right but the seat sizes and eyepoint are off a bit. The eyepoint perspective in the VC is really wrong as you don't sit that low and to the right in the real thing. Sorry so long winded but I like what you've done so far I just would update that forward right view a bit and then it'll be perfect. Again great job so far...
