payware 737

Featured Replies

Ive come to love the 737 as a plane and have decided to get a payware version to upgrade itWhat is the best current 737, and if there is a better one in the new future is it worth the wait?

PMDG is working on a 737NG, however there is no release date-- and it has been in development for some time. Current offerings would be Wilco's 737 PIC which is pretty good, however it is not system intensive (if that is what you are looking for). For a $100.00 you can get the Ariane 737, which a review was just posted on Avsim today coincidentally.

i looked at an ariane but unfortunatly dont have 100 dollars to spend on FS:P

The Wilco PIC/Feel There Boeing 737-300/400/500 is an excellent add-on for the price and well worth a look if the Ariane one is too steep for you price-wise. It was fully deserving of the AVSIM award it won in its FS9 incarnation, and it's just as good in FSX.In addition to getting three variants in the package, it also has the advantage of having a co-pilot add on specifically for it, and a mission disk specifically for it too, so in terms of expandability, it really has no equal. Furthermore, it features some systems simulation that no other FS 737 (in either FS9 or FSX) has, so although some aspects of it are simplified, in one or two ways at least, it is the best one.Definitely worth a look.Al

k i looked at the wilco PIC. and it looks amazing i think ive made my descisionand the price works too :D thanks for the info this is my first time buying an addon since i never really have the money for computer stuff so i wanted to make sure id get a good one and i really cant wait to fly this :D

Be sure to give us some pic of ya flight Enjoy GPWS woop woop pull up to low terrain :( This was my first GPWS A/C i was like :(

I recommend setting up a very short test flight route. I use Long Beach to LAX. That way you can get practice on takeoffs (easy) and instrument approaches (more challenging) in a short time. I program the FMC with a very short flight that is basically take off from Long Beach, head out over the ocean (or inland, if the wind is blowing the other way) according to published procedures, and never get about 5000 feet. Build up your confidence that way with autolandings and manual landings, and then start adding in crosswinds. It's a lot of fun and then you're confident when you are finishing a three hour flight. Also, the mission pack has a tutorial if you want to spring for an extra that will help out in learning to airplane. No sooner will you be competent than something unexpected gets thrown at you. Fun stuff.

ill def get the mission packI personally fly the pattern at pearson international and for planes that can handle the short runway I fly from pearson to buttonville or city centerAnd I prefer to hand fly the landings because thats the most fun challenging part :D(as well as i really dont know how to use the FMC yet but plan to learn

The mission pack is available from Wilco Publishing (since it is their product and not a Feel There product like the airplane and co-pilot add-on is). It is called Aviation and Mission. I reviewed it for AVSIM a couple of months back and you can read the review here:http://www.avsim.com/pages/0409/Wilco/AM.htmThere is a link to the Wilco site where you can buy it at the top of the review. It's an innovative product that ticks quite a few boxes (not least of which is that it will teach you a lot about how to start the engines correctly and fly a 737 properly), and they have more such products on the way for their other add-on aircraft. If you want a good book on how to learn the 737 and all its systems, I can certainly recommend this book (the manual which comes with the Wilco 737 is based upon it):http://www.amazon.com/Flying-Boeing-700-Fl...s/dp/0936283106Al
