Opensky 747-400 v4 merge with PMDG question

Recommended Posts

Oh okay I understand it, but then help me... If I use the pmdg aircraft cfg the plane sinks into the ground (with edited contact points)
You need to edit the vertical position of the contact points using the following table.
//0 Class //1 Longitudinal Position (feet) //2 Lateral Position (feet) //3 Vertical Position (feet) //4 Impact Damage Threshold (Feet Per Minute) //5 Brake Map (0=None, 1=Left, 2=Right) //6 Wheel Radius (feet) //7 Steer Angle (degrees) //8 Static Compression (feet) (0 if rigid) //9 Max/Static Compression Ratio (strenght) //10 Damping Ratio (0=Undamped, 1=Critically Damped) //11 Extension Time (seconds) //12 Retraction Time (seconds) //13 Sound Type

Hi Geddy_2112,what you wrote is absolutely correct. However, some people might want to just make sure they have these values in their aircraft.cfg :reference_datum_position = 112.714, 0, 5.502and[contact_points]static_pitch = 1static_cg_height = 12.5tailwheel_lock = 0gear_system_type = 0max_number_of_points = 5point.0 = 1, -24.194, 0, -19.335, 1500, 0, 1.932, 56, 1.45, 0.128, 0.78, 9, 12, 0, 270, 320point.1 = 1, -102.496, -16.009, -20.905, 1500, 1, 1.932, 0, 1.54, 1.171, 0.88, 16, 21, 2, 270, 320point.2 = 1, -102.496, 16.009, -20.905, 1500, 2, 1.932, 0, 1.54, 1.171, 0.88, 15, 20, 3, 270, 320point.3 = 1, -115.277, -4.253, -20.905, 1700, 1, 1.932, 0, 1.5, 1.203, 0.82, 15, 18, 2, 270, 320point.4 = 1, -115.277, 4.253, -20.905, 1700, 1, 1.932, 0, 1.5, 1.203, 0.82, 15, 18, 2, 270, 320

HI Guys, Sorry to bring an old thread back to life but i need a little help with this Merge. I had the aircraft flying great, but had the visual issues with the flap canoe's on the FO's side of the aircraft not extending. I amended the flap settings as per the once listed above. That has cured the problem with the flap canoes but when ever the flaps are extending i now get a nose down flight angle on approach....not very realistic for a 747..! Any help would be grateful as i do love my wings views from the posky 747, PMDG in FS9 does not have them.. ThanksRob.

Might not be what you would like to hear, but there is a relatively good way around.Install FSRecorder http://www.fs-record...vejua7pg9e70015 and configure it to have dynamic wing views for any model you wish, including the PMDG 744.They will be spot views only, but at least you have wing views to enjoy.

Another bonus from this method is wing shadows!...... I like watching the wing shadows appear/disappear on landing/takeoff. It is a great shame they are not there in normal wing views.cool.png

That is the first thing I tried. But it did not work.But these flap settings DO work....along with the POSKY utility :-)[flaps.0]type = 1 // Trailing edgespan-outboard = 0.8 // 0.0 .. 1.0extending-time = 25 // secondsflaps-position.0 = 0 // pseudo-degreesflaps-position.1 = 0.00,280 // 1 - no TEflaps-position.2 = 25.0,260 // 5flaps-position.3 = 27.5,240 // 10flaps-position.4 = 30.0,230 // 20flaps-position.5 = 31.5,205 // 25flaps-position.6 = 33.0,180 // 30lift_scalar = 1.0drag_scalar = 0.1pitch_scalar= 1.0system_type = 1 //Hydraulic[flaps.1]type = 2 // Inboard/midboard leading edgespan-outboard = 0.53333 // 0.0 .. 1.0extending-time = 12 // secondsflaps-position.0 = 0 // pseudo-degreesflaps-position.1 = 1.0 // 1damaging-speed = 275 // KIASblowout-speed = 280 // KIASlift_scalar = 0.88drag_scalar = 1.54pitch_scalar= 1.0system_type = 1 //Hydraulic[flaps.2]type = 2 // Outboard leading edgespan-outboard = 0.2666 // 0.0 .. 1.0extending-time = 10 // secondsflaps-position.0 = 0 // pseudo-degreesflaps-position.1 = 0.0 // 1 - no effectflaps-position.2 = 5.0 // 5damaging-speed = 255 // KIASblowout-speed = 260 // KIASlift_scalar = 1.0drag_scalar = 1.0pitch_scalar= 1.0system_type = 1 //Hydraulic[flaps.3]type = 1 // Modelspan-outboard = 0.7extending-time = 60 flaps-position.0 = 0.0flaps-position.1 = 1.0flaps-position.2 = 5.0flaps-position.3 = 10.0flaps-position.4 = 20.0flaps-position.5 = 25.0flaps-position.6 = 30.0lift_scalar = 0.0drag_scalar = 0.0pitch_scalar= 0.0system_type = 1

Hello and sorry to bring this topic to live after a long time since from the last post. And sorry about my poor english...

Donor, I'm using your flaps configurations in my 747-400 test bed (merge Posky and PMDG). It is working fine but there is a problem with the canoe speed only on the right side.

When I select flap 5 or flap 10, the tip of canoe goes out of the flap a little bit (look at screens: note the canoe's tip outside of the outer flap).

Is there any way to correct the canoe speed to match with the flap speed? Who is the canoe control parameter in the Aircraft.cfg?

Other problem is the Flap 30 set. Using my throttle joystick, I'm able to set until 25 only. To the set 30, is necessary to use the THR pop up from the PMDG. Is there any way to adjust it?

Regards.
