July 18, 200916 yr Commercial Member Hi,I have an interesting problem with the MD-11 sounds.I start out in 2D - no probs. If I switch to external view, then back again, *SOMETIMES* some audio from external view will continue in 2D/VC views, ad it requires cycling Q (QUIET) in FS to fix. This problem only affects CERAIN aircraft, not all, and is not unique to either the MD-11 or FSX. I also get this with SOME aircraft in FS2004. It is always the same aircraft with the faults, and the same problem always arises. Before I get told it is my sound hardware, this issue also plagued my previous computer system, with entirely different sound hardware.I have never found a solution, but I do know it is entirely aircraft-based.One aircraft I have that is a tri-jet for FS2004, simply replacing the sound set with that from another tri-jet that did not have the problem fixed it, but left me with entirely the wrong sound set for the engines. Is PMDG aware that this occurs, and if so, are there any solutions? The issue I'm experiencing with the MD-11 in FSX has common points with another aircraft in FSX in that this issue occurs after switching to external view, then back again, however in the case of the other aircraft, nothing fixes the audio issue. The symptoms are:* Some sounds continue to play* It is like FS is playing two copies of the same audio. First set is 2D, next set in external, switching back, it sounds like it started another set of internal audio in addition to the first set, and they are playing milliseconds out of sync.In the case of the MD-11, just pressing Q to mute the sounds, then Q to play them again fixes it.As I say, this also inflicted previous hardware, and I have tried in total 4 entirely different sound cards (2 onboard, 2 add-in). This is entirely a software fault in FS, but what????A fix would be great as it is extremely annoying.Best regards,Robin.
July 18, 200916 yr It occurs in MSFS (FS9 or 10) in default and add-on aircraft... pressing Q twice fixes it. That pretty much sums up all I know, except the PMDG sound wizard is trying to get around this but so far the "as real as it gets" application is just real hard to get around sometimes.
