Try searching the forum for framerates and performance and you'll find that framerates varygreatly, depending on where you fly, what you fly, and what settings you have selected in FSX.If you are looking for better framerates, start by turning off bloom, traffic, shadows, and turn down water and weather. From there you can work your way back up. I found freeway traffic to have a big impact onmy system, and have turned it off.

I'm far from expert on these matters, but don't think you'll get great framerates with only 2Gb of main memory.

I do just fine with XP and 2 gig DDR2. I have an 8800GT vid card, but an AMD 6400+ processor. So if it's not your settings I would say your processor is holding you back.Robert
