July 25, 200916 yr Well here is an interseting one, it doesnt appear to follow the standard bit pattern, I can never disable core 0. I just spent the lasy hr or so going through the complete list, and restarting fsx, i can stop FSX using cores 1,2 and 3 but never core 0.Here is a list I got.15 ALL cores running14 - 0.2,313 - 0,2,312 - 0,311 - 0,1,310 - 0,39 - 0,38 - 07 - 0,1,26 - 0,25 - 0,24 - 03 - 0,12 - 01 - 00 All runningHmm, anyone else get this, could be that i am using it with a bios that supports 940, not sure about 945, although it ids it correctly, and it works ok, So anther spanner in the works.

The affinity Mask in FSX only controls the scenery loading functions, that's not unusual. What's interesting is cores that should be in use with your table doesn't appear to be, for example AffinityMask=2 should show activity on core 1 (as well as 0), 4 should be 2 and 0 , 5 should be 3,2, and 0) (0 being the main app) etc... I remember early on there was a hotfix for the AMD's (There was one for Intels as well) for problems with the OS managing multiple cores (In apps that used them. Not sure if that ever got fixed in the service packs, as it was an optional patch. I would think by now it would have found it's way in a service pack or update by now, but you never know it may not have, and you still have to patch it yourself. July 25, 200916 yr Author ye that patch was for the dual cores, i think in SP3 now, from waht i read. I did dig around on there web site cant find aything new. Hopeing for a bios update so i can up the Vcore its a little low so i can get it at 3.2 gig.Cheers
July 26, 200916 yr I just bought an AMD 940 and found the same to be true. My frame rates dropped significantly when using the recommended affinity mask (14), but all cores are used when using 15 or 0, along with a nice increase in performance and frame rates.
