HiHow far from destination are you? You have to be close to destination (around 80 miles) to get it. If you hear "this is in flight" (or similar, can't remember) before the ATIS, then it's not what you were looking for, try again later.CheersFede

hi, i was mile away from my airport >200nm, so if i were to go check for weather say around 50nm would i get a more relevant response when i check for atis at the field?

Exactly. I believe at about 50 Nm if Otto is on coms he will request wx without the need for you to ask. Otherwise you can do it on your own.CheersFede

JD has elaborated on this many times in this forum. If you do a search you may find this useful. It seems not to be possible to ask RC to get you the WX at your destination as already explained unless you are 80 miles or nearer. An external WX programme will help.AS6/ASX does.As do other many other sources on the web. This will give you a clue as to what the AI are going to be doing and hence what your arrival runway is likely to be.
