What a beautiful sight!

So you have to be at 16X to really see a meteor? That ridiculous. Why bother putting the effect in the sim? No wonder I've never seen one in FS. :(
not true at all, I've seen a meteor in fsx and I would never think about touching the time acceleration in my flight sim career.Have not seen the northern lights in fsx but did in fs9

I love that people actually think Obama is not an American. Turn off Fox news and learn the alphabet.

FSX, I often fly to Greenland and Iceland. I have seen many times beautiful views of the northern lights. They are amazing. Sanal

It is actually CNN and Lou Dobbs that has been investigating those claims and giving air time. Fox already investigated this issue 6 months ago and found that these rumors were not true. You must be confused because this is avsim.com, not moveon.org. Get an education. Anyways, back to flightsims........What weather conditions do you need to replicate in order to see the northern lights? I am assuming that the flight needs to be setup somewhere in Northern Canada or Alaska?

I'm sorry. I was just replying to someone's signature banner that was located on this forum. I agree that topics should be kept to issues regarding flight simulation and aviation - but when someone proudly displays a banner - then that can full under discussion too. You're right though - I should probably get an education, so I'll go back to studying for my MEI CPL here at Airline Transport Professionals academy in Lawrenceville, GA. You take care now kiddo.Blake

I see no banner referring to The Messiah. I come here and enjoy the lack of political discord, so please keep the views about that stuff on DU.

I've seen the Northern Lights in FS9, but had to look for them years ago. I still don't understand why it is so rare to see a falling star in FS. I don't time accelerate ever, but I don't expect to ever see one. Nice to know you CAN on normal rate though.
