a couple weeks ago i decided to buy some scenery add ons (payware) so after i bought them i deleted every bit of fs9 off my computer. after that. i re installed fs9 and each add on i have. add ons are...Fsceneultimate terrainultimate water fxactive sky 6.5fs elementaluk2000 doncaster birmingham belfastfly tampa hong kong vienna boston st maartenaerosoft frankfurt lisbon madrid heathrowpmdg 747-400my computer specs are as followsAMD phenom x2 550 3.7ghz4gb DDR2250gig hard drivexfx 8800gtxsounds blaster x-fiplay at 1280x1024i get no error message nothing. fs9 just completely disapears and i see just the desktop. :s could this be a lack of ram or something. i know my fs9 folder is now almost 9 gig.

After FS9 exits, check the Application log in the Event Viewer of Windows and see if any error messages show up there. That could shed some light on why FS9 is exiting without any messages. In XP, the Event Viewer can be found in the Control Panel and then under Administrative Tools.

Have you tried a defrag lately? I usually do one after a clean install of FS9...tends to help. Like preventative maintenance, I guess. As for the specific problem, the Event Viewer is a good start. RAM is not the problem here, as far as I can tell.

ok thanks for the replies ill for sure check the event log thingy if it crash's again. yes i defrag ;)

Sounds like there is some conflict or corruption in fs9 and/or the add-ons. The thing is, its almost impossible to 'completely' uninstall something off windows. It's best to just format and install fs9 and add-ons on a clean windows, so you know everything is right. Def doesn't sound like a memory issue, as you have 4 gigs and I've never had a problem with 2.

At what point does it CTD exactly? Is it while loading or in flight? If it's while in flight, does it happen all the time at random or in a specific area? Oftentimes, error-free CTDs are caused by bad (corrupt) ground textures. Finding the culprit is like searching for a needle in a haystack, I find that whenever I start crashing in a specific area, it's usually time to reinstall whatever ground enhancing add-ons (or textures - in case of GEP for example) I have in and around that location.

Cheers,

Mack
