Captain Sim 757-200 Pro Pack

Featured Replies

I posted this thread in Captaim Sim's forum and nobody replied, so I'll try it here...I purchased the Captain Sim 757 Pro Pack, only to discover that the VC instruments aren't backlit (obviously for night ops)...just a dim overhead light. There's a workable solution for the FSX version, but I haven't found anything for the FS9 version. Help anyone?

Night lighting works normal for me and has been for over a year now... :( Turning on the 'NAV/Beacon' lights usually does the trick. Make sure in FS9's settings, 'Hardware Rendering Lights' is set to '8' (Options\Setting\Display\Hardware).

You're referring to the virtual cockpit? The 2D cockpit looks great, it's the VC I'm having trouble with. This may be a dumb question, but where are the nav/beacon lights in this cockpit?Photo below shows what my VC cockpit looks like at night...

On the overhead panel towards the front. Turn them on during the day and then change the time to dusk or night. See if the VC lights up. Also did you check your settings in FS9 like I told you above?

Yes, I followed your instructions, but still not working. I don't see nav/beacon lights on OH panel. Can you point them out in the picture below (OH panel and light panel shown)? Also, could you attach a screen shot of what your VC looks like at night?

Paul I am honestly at a lose here as to what could be causing your problem and getting support from Captainsim is about like talking to one of the walls in your house and expecting a valid responce...

Okay, thanks. Just out of curiousity, could you attach an image of 757 cockpit at night so I can see how it should look?

For what it's worth, trying pressing the "L" key, which is the general light on/off FS command and see if you can get the VC light working that way. When you do, start flicking the light switches on the overhead panel to off (those that are on) and see what light makes the VC light extinguish. If that doesn't worek, I can only ask if you have version 2.1 of the 757, and if nothing at all works, try reinstalling.

For me it's shift L to turn on the cockpit lights, but I will say that the VC lighting is very subdued compared to the 2D panel. At dusk only flipping them off and on again can you really see the difference. Not sure how they look in the dead of night yet.

I've tried SHIFT + L and every other variation, but still nothing. One last request from some screen shots of your cockpit? I'd like to get an idea of how it should look.Thanks.
