August 8, 200916 yr Since long have I been downloading planes and scenery and always wanted to do something in return. First, I started repainting aircraft, which goes rather well now. Then, I asked if I could be a reviewer, both here and at another website, and was accepted. However, now I want to enter a third field, namely scenery design. I have found the tutorial on this forum and I'll be reading it for sure. My question is not at all about where to find info, help or tools, but it's about the airport I want to design: Zandery airport in Surinam. I'm not from Surinam, yet I find that it's a country completely ignored by the FS world, which is a pity. I will repaint the CLS 747-300 model in SLM colors shortly, after I finish and release the El Al repaint I'm doing for the CLS 747-200 model. My question is as follows: did anybody already start with this airport? I'm aware of the FS2002 scenery and I will surely use it as reference. Also, if anybody has any pictures that he made from the ground, of the buildings etc, that will surely be helpful! I need all the help I can get! With that asked and said, I'll be reading the tutorial. Thanks in advance for any help. August 9, 200916 yr Author Nobody? Well, I'm not really surprised, actually.Does anybody have an airport chart of SMJP (Johan Adolf Pengel intl. airport, Zanderij, Surinam), or does anybody have an idea where to get one? Without that, I might as well not start at all. August 14, 200916 yr Google Earth is often helpful in seeing the layout of a real world airport - but I have no idea if their coverage extends to your particular area of interest or not.
September 30, 200916 yr As alraedy suggested you clearly see the layout of the airport on GoogleEarth, and as for reference pictures you can search for picture on picasa, myaviation.net, airliners.net and other sites. I've not been active in simming since 2000 anymore but did stay up to date ever since. In january I'm planning to start simming again and am very interested in Surinam scenery. I had actually started deisgning a detailed scenery of smjp back in the days but the airport has changed completely. In April 2010 I'll travel to surinam and will collect reference material to build scenery for a few airports and cities in Suriname.
