Changing to assigned frequencies.

Featured Replies

Hello all, I have searched the forum and have not been able to find any posts with respect to this specific topic. For example, when instructed by a controller to switch to a different frequency, and that controller begins instructing someone else before you make the switch, it is then impossible for you to effect that change to a new frequency, until the new dialog is completed, a dialog which has no relevance to you. I would think that this is highly unrealistic, or is it a problem which I am alone experiencing. :( Best Regards,GodfreyG :(

Hello JD, I certainly hope I have not wasted your time, which will only delay the arrival of RCv5 even more !!! :( Anyhow, I may have "goofed up" as I may have selected 'acknowledge' only, and not 'acknowledgw with contact'. I will check that to verify and, if I did, I apologize for wasting your time. I do have every box under 'Other' checked with the exceptions of 'Display Text' and 'IFR Training' Thanks for your quick reply.Respestfully,GodfeyG :(

if you clicked ack, the frequency never changed, and you should hear other chatter on that frequencyif you click ack and contact, and chatter was playing, it is rude to step on the other dialog, to acknowledge your transmission. then again, maybe the other dialog shouldn't have started until you ack-ed. it all dependsjd

I thought, maybe the original problem reported may really have been one I think you've dealt with in Version 5. The one where even if I change frequencies on my COM1 radio, the current verbal exchange on the now de-tuned frequency continues till finished. That's certainly unrealistic, but in RCV5 don't you cut off the playback as soon as you see the frequency change?RegardsPete

i'm not sure that was the issue the original poster was having. and yes, in v5 i stop the chatter from one frequency as soon as i see the frequency change.jd

Pete has covered it JD, that was the problem I was questioning in my original post. I am glad to know that you have fixed this issue in RCv5 and now, I just can't wait for its release. :( Anyhooo... I gues I will have to wait, with as much patience as I can muster. You guys, JD and Pete, have really made some remarkably great improvements to our flightsimming world. Hats off to you fellows. :( Best Regards,GodfreyG :(
