Even a 4GHz Core i7 is going to struggle at times to deliver fluid framerates when there's a lot going on, let alone a full 30 FPS.

Well, the same question for at least 20 FTPs. I ask it in this way because to fly a PMDG or digital aviation aircraft, landing in EGLL, LFPG or EDDF from Aerosoft with full AI traffic with active sky and beautiful clouds, is not really interesting with 8 or 10 FTPs...harpsi

20 FPS is do-able, I think. Maybe a couple minor tweaks to pull it off, but a realistic goal with an i7 @ 4GHz.

Also don't get DDR3 1333 and if you get an i7 you should get 3 identical sticks rather than 2. You'll want DDR3 1600 or faster as you'll need to overclock to achieve your goal and DDR3 1333 just won't cut it there. Look for some DDR3 1600 CL7.

20fps, heathrow, pmdg md11 VC would require a core i7 clocked to AT LEAST 4.0Ghz, with a solid RAM, video card and motherboard to matchWhether you get the i7 920, 950, or 975 will depend on how much you want to spend and fiddle with settings.
