shift enter doesn't actually move the eyepoint at all. It rotates it. Because of the way 2d panel works it has the appearance of "raising the seat". To set the rotation, you need to change the 2d panel setup in the affected aircraft's panel folder, panel.cfg file. You need to find or create a section:

[Views]VIEW_FORWARD_DIR= 3.0, 0.0, 0.0

where the 3 values control the eyepoint rotation when looking forward in 2d. The first one is the pitch (tilt) which is what you want to adjust. If you rotate too far the panel won't show and you will get the VC (if it exists in the model) instead. You can also add aVIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM= to adjust the zoom (try .65 or .75).scott s..

Well, wait just one moment! First of all the (Views) section effects only the VC panel (or is what I always thought). Second of all the 2D panel view point CAN be moved (not 'angled' as you say) with Ctrl, Shift, and Ctrl+Shift along with other key. The combos are:(1). Ctrl+ BackSpc= Move Back. Ctrl+Enter= Move Forward.(2). Shift+BackSpc= Move Down. Shift+Enter= Move Up.(3). Ctrl+Shift+BackSpc= Move Left. Ctrl+Shift+Enter= Move Right.The BackSpace press sets Zoom to 1X. You can use your joy Hatswitch for view changes (including VC panel view). Hope this helps.Chuck BNapamule

If you have a CH yoke, I set the FS assignments: Eyepoint Move Down to SW 06, Eyepoint Move Up to SW 05. (No Repeat) The toggle switch on the CH yoke body (beside the Landing Gear toggle SW) will move your "Seat" or view up or down. Handy on approaches.Alex Reid

Nope. The [views] section in the panel.cfg affects only the 2d panel.The [views] section in the aircraft.cfg affects only the VC panel.The correct entry to change the vertical (x), lateral (y), and fore/aft (z) eyepoint in the 2d panel is this entry:VIEW_FORWARD_EYE x,y,zTo adjust the pitch, bank and heading, using this entry:VIEW_FORWARD_DIR p,b,hFor example:
VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.850VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=4.600, 0.000, 0.000VIEW_FORWARD_EYE=0.500, -0.200, 0.240

The above would set the eyepoint to85% zoom4.6
