Captain Sim weather radar into JS4100

It's very simple:1. Install CS radar into JS41 using installer provided by Captain Sim (WXR_Editor.exe)2. Go to FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG_JS4100\panel\panel.cfg, open the file with notepad, find the line

gauge04=rxpWX500!RDR,  532, 528, 472, 331

and replace it with

gauge04=WXR!wr_display,  532, 528, 472, 331

Do the same for panel_HIDEF and panel_LODEF which are used when you change panel quality in JS41 configurator. That's all. You can operate radar gauge using 2D window only.RXP gauge may have more features, but it's pretty expensive for something that is not fully functional due to FSX limitations. At least that's what PMDG guys repeat constantly when asked about WX radar :)

Whoa there, NellyMake sure that on the low def panel.cfg, you use half those values... so 266, 264, 236, 166

Does it integrate into the 3D panel like the RXP gauge, i.e., will the knobs, etc.. function??On a side note, I thought the CS Weather Radar was more "realistic" reporting wise than the RXP offering. Am I wrong? I am trying to decide which one to get.

Hi BlakeAt first sight it looks as though an error has crept into your Hi-Def panel.cfg fileYour post shows for the VC panel header..// VC SECTION 2///////////////////////////////////////////////////////[VCockpit02]size_mm=512,512pixel_size=512,512texture=$GaugeTwobackground_color=0,0,0I

This works great with the Gray Panel but I can't get it to display with the Beige Panel. Any suggestions?Craig Farr

hello and Thanks Jim i was just about to go to work after if post today i thought to my self what if i put the numbers 266, 264, 236, 166 in my regular panel con fig folder and boom it worked haha.Thanks Blake

Hi CraigIn the interest of fair play, I just changed my panel from beige to grey, and here is the VC 2 entry that was the result, which is the same as the beige panel entry, so I have to assume that the colour of the panel is defined somewhere else.These entries are for the Hi-Def panel///////////////////////////////////////////////////////// VC SECTION 2///////////////////////////////////////////////////////[VCockpit02]size_mm=1024,1024pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$GaugeTwobackground_color=0,0,0gauge00=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_1, 0, 0, 393, 500gauge01=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_2, 393, 0, 393, 500gauge02=PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3!GNSXLS, 1, 508, 512, 408gauge03=j41!pmdg_j41_alt_pic, 896,0,128,508gauge04=WXR!wr_display, 527,511,473,360gauge05=j41!pmdg_j41fms_pu_open, 919,458,53,35gauge06=PMDG_WXR_Toggle!WXR_Toggle, 614,597,296,211///////////////////////////////////////////////////////One thing to be aware of, which I have just found out, is that if you make as I have any panel additions / modifications, changing the panel colour will wipe any added windows, such as the pop-up WXR gauge that I had added.I hope it helps.Jim Hodkinson<EDIT>I forgot to add the Pic, sorry.

I purchased CS-Radar. I was reading the above configurations settings. Will you please confirm, which configuration settings I should apply to Aircraft.Config file to insert into JS-41 instrument panel radar gauges? I assume I have to copy and paste it.ThanksSanal

Hi SanalYou do not need to make any changes or additions to the aircraft.cfg file as the gauge is called up by the panel.cfg file only.The additions the panel.cfg file that I have for The Hi-Def cockpit as follows..To the [Window Titles] section add the following (change the XX to the next available number, I thnk it's 03) for the full gauge, which you will need for turning the unit on and adjusting the range setting and such.WindowXX=CS Weather RadarThen you need to add the window you have just made in the [Window Titles] section above, remember to givethe new window the same nuber as you put in the WindowXX=CS Weather Radar entry you just made.Now you add the window itself as follows (remembering about changing the XX's to the same number as above).//--------------------------------------------------------[WindowXX]Background_color=1,1,1 size_mm=525,386window_size_ratio=1.000 position=2visible=0ident=11223window_size= 0.380, 0.373window_pos= 0.000, 0.600zorder=8gauge00=WXR!wr_display, 81,32,364,279gauge01=Captain_Sim.r001.P04!P04_radar, 0,1,523,384Then add the following to the [Vcockpit02] sectiongauge04=WXR!wr_display, 527,511,473,360so that the entire section looks like the following..//--------------------------------------------------------[Vcockpit02]Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=1024,1024visible=1pixel_size=1024,1024texture=$GaugeTwogauge00=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_1, 0,0,393,500gauge01=j41!pmdg_j41_rmu_2, 393,0,393,500gauge02=PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3!GNSXLS, 1,508,512,408gauge03=j41!pmdg_j41_alt_pic, 896,0,128,508gauge04=WXR!wr_display, 527,511,473,360gauge05=j41!pmdg_j41fms_pu_open, 919,458,53,35I have left out the pop-up controller gauge I made, as I think it is leading to some confusion.And that

Hi again SanalBelow is the complete panel.cfg for the J41 (beige panel Hi-Def version), one thing to remember is that if for any reason you should use the J41

Jim,I replaced the Panel file with your Panel settings and saved. I reboot my PC, still nothing happened. I don't have CS-Radar in JS-41 panel radar gauges place. I have only,drop menu CS-Radar.RegardsSanalhttp://www.fsfiles.org/imagehost/uploads/1254220581.jpg
