September 7, 200916 yr This was a great explanation--and now I got them started for the first time! Thanks!^%$@ Garretts!
September 8, 200916 yr the tutorial load did not have these engaged properly.Hmm...it should. Just to make sure, you're loading another flight (Default ultralight for example), then loading the tutorial once that has started up? You aren't trying to load the tutorial flight directly from the free flight menu?
September 10, 200916 yr Thank you, thank you, thank you. I never thought that the sound of a running engine could be so beautiful. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....... Robert Yunque PilotEdge Ratings = CAT-11 (2016-09-13) I-11 (2016-10-23) V-3 (2016-08-01)
September 2, 201015 yr Hi everybody,I've a problem starting the engines of my Boeing 747-400.I did all the procedures from this tutorial step by step, but when i pull the engine start selector, I can't verify any illumination or movement, and I've also tried these procedures several times, but I still can't start my engines up.P.S. I also tried to startup the engines using the key CTRL+E, but it doesn't work...Best regards,Francisco Saraiva

On the overhead panel, make sure you have the Batteries on, standby power to auto, have the apu running and on both busses, and have all the buses on, and GEN swithces on, and have all hydrolic pumps on execpt for number 4 (far right) set to AUX. Make sure the APU bleed air valve is open, and the engine bleed air valves are open. SOP is to turn off at least two of the packs, but you can start the engines with all three running. Make sure the autostart function is on (center of the panel), then turn on the fuel switch of the engine you want to start first (on the throttle quad.), and pull the corresponding black nob on the overhead panel, and white dot should illuminate to show the start sequence has begun. Rince and repeat for the remaining three. And as a result of it, I could finnaly pull the black nob on the overhead panel with success. Thanks for your help,Francisco Saraiva
September 2, 201015 yr Glad to hear it finally worked. And FYI, the reason you set the fourth pump to AUX is to loosen up the nose gear for pushback and tail turn. Once you are clear of the pushback truck and ground equipment, with all four engines on, you can turn that pump on then (or auto).
