September 9, 200916 yr The situation:Medium hop from Nice to Friedrichshafen (FDH)So I'm feeling lazy and decide not to bother trying to re order my brain for the j41 FMS so I'll fly in the correct general direction and then pick up the Friedrichshafen VOR and land.First problem...try as I might, I can't tune to the Friedrichshafen VOR on nav1. Set the frequency OK but it picks up nothing.So...no problem, I'll just start up the FMS and enter Friedrichshafen as a direct too.Second problem...How do initialize the FMS in flight? September 9, 200916 yr Commercial Member I don't know if this applies but Henning fixed a bug last night that was causing certain VORs and DMEs to not tune. Fix will be available with SP1... (no ETA yet) Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
September 10, 200916 yr Author You might have to get off the ground to receive a VOR that is not nearby.lol... I'm aware that you don't get the full range VOR when you're on the ground. Perhaps I should have said that I was in the air but I would of thought that was obvious. Looks like this issue has been reported as a bug for other stations too. Will wait for sp1 and see if it resolves the problem.Same as on the ground. Then direct-to the next waypoint.VangelisPS. No tune ??There problem is that if you take off with the FMS off without having initialized it, when you switch it on in the air, it doesn't know were it is (understandably) so there must be a way to manually enter your position in the air for the fms to initialize correctly.
