September 9, 200916 yr When using autothrottle (by pressing SHIFT+R), autopilot does not hold target altude, it drifts off from it (either above or below selected altitude). This only happen when cheat autothrottle is ON, when it's OFF, autopilot perfectly holds target altitude.PS FD bars command to climb/descent when autopilot drifts off from target altitude, but autopilot seem to ignore FD...PS2 At least two people posted the same problem on Feelthere forum, but no answer from developers.
September 9, 200916 yr the 'auto-throttle cheat' brings the FS default autopilot into play and as a result there is some noise between the custom made gauge and FS's gauge.i suggest you fly the plane as real-world: pilot controls the throttles during cruise, descent and landing.for those wondering:old support forum for the legacy - http://iemit.com/forum (can be searched, no longer open to posts)current support forum for feelThere designed aircraft - http://forum.iemit.com (registration required)-- D. September 9, 200916 yr the two work together ... just with limitations. again, a cheat added because of the number of users complainted that an autothrottle wasn't installed by embarer on the real ERJs and Legacy aircraft (an option at one time and no one purchased).with practice you can use the throttles in cruise ... gives you something to do :( use the cheat, if you must, for a short time when getting a fresh cup of coffee or going to the lav.-- D. It starts to drift away within 5-10 seconds, soon enough it picks vertical speed of an excess of 200-300 fpm. This means you can not fly in RVSM airspace, nor you can leave computer for more than half a minute (if not less).
September 9, 200916 yr A - feelThere is damned if the cheat is added ... or it is not. damned because autothrottle isn't real world and 'feelThere made a fake feature.' damned as those that don't understand the r/w aircraft believe that feelThere 'forgot a basic feature of a modern aircraft.'B - real world pilots don't leave the cockpit during flight unless another pilot is present :( C - few FSers ever fly on-line.-- D. Surely it is not realistic to use AT on E135, however if you did add cheat AT, at least make sure that it works and allows virtual pilots to leave computer for 5-10 minutes without worries that they will find acft falling from the skies because AP does not hold altitude with fake AT engaged.
September 9, 200916 yr GSLOC,I don't think members of feelthere need your type of attitude. I see you have not been around these forums a lot so a little decency from you is not much to ask. As for your problem...there is nothing stopping you from simply pulling back the throttles a bit at cruise so you don't overspeed in varying winds and take a 5 min break. Also, Microsoft has already incorporated the ultimate 'hold' mode if you must leave the computer for a moment...its called the pause button. Now if you're flying online through on of the communities, you shouldn't really be leaving your screen anyways.Best of luck. :( - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |
September 9, 200916 yr I have found that if the CRUISE mode on the Legacy is engaged and your speed is set for Mach .74-.78 and your throttles are set for a little less than indicated on the EICAS, the Legacy will usually not overspeed. The Cruise button sets the maximum thrust. Not really an auto throttle, but can keep you from overspeeding while cruising.A little help here if I am wrong. Just my experience. It also limits thrust, thus speed, if the Climb button is engaged during the climb phase. Of course you must always monitor the speed and use thrust levers to control her.Jim D.
