September 19, 200916 yr I broke down and upgraded my FSX rig yet again. I went from the QX9650 to an i7 950. I CANNOT beleive how easy these CPU's are to overclock. I'm already at 4.2Ghz on air stable with a max temp under load of 71C with OCCT and Prime95. I'm slowly decreasing CPU voltage and QPI voltage to see if I can get it a tad cooler. Currenty both are at 1.28125.To all you gents that were posting about your sucesses with these i7's thank you. Can't wait to get FSX installed and give it a whirl.Regards,Bob
September 19, 200916 yr Good luck with the new system! I'm not breaking down and using my school food/gas money for atleast another 6 months. I'm waiting for I9... patiently. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules

These are the settings I am currently stable at with a full load temp of 68C. Still trying to work the voltage down. PCIE Spread Spectrum is DISABLED.Regards,Bob
September 19, 200916 yr Hi Bob, I would raise that vQPI a little bit, at least to 1.300v. Right now at 1.26v you're 80% of the 0.5v critical difference between vQPI and vDIMM and that is, in my opinion, too close for comfort. I don't think it would affect your stability and it might even help with DDR3 1600.-jk
September 19, 200916 yr Author Thanks, I knew I was tight on the QPI setting. I've dropped the DRAM Voltage to 1.60. Now I'm going to up the QPI to 1.30v as suggested.
September 19, 200916 yr Bob thanks a lot.You get fantastic results with your Zalman. Is it the Extreme or the Quiet version? - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.

September 19, 200916 yr Author Bob thanks a lot.You get fantastic results with your Zalman. Is it the Extreme or the Quiet version?David,It's the Extreme. This cooler is a beast. I actually had to remove the fans, and fan bracket from the side of my case (Cooler Master Stacker 830). If anyone's thinking of getting this cooler make sure you have a huge case with alot of realestate. It fit great on the P6T Deluxe V2 ( I was a bit worried that I'd have issues).
