September 20, 200916 yr Greetings all,I was wonderng how the pushback procedures should be executed.for example, the AC power truck is connected to the aircraft. i configure everything and then i hit shift+p. if i leave the AC truk connected and still pushback, the FMC shuts down and i cannot input the route data anymore.... how can i re-align the AHRS ??I know this method is unrealistic, however what will happen if i decide to detach the ac car before pushing back ?? shuld i just change the switch to BATT ASSISTED and then press shift+p ??i noticed that in the AOM it clearly states :C. Aircraft Pushback1. Never have a tow bar attached to the aircraft while an engine(s) is run-ning. The aircraft will have to be repositioned, the tow bar removed, then the engine(s) may be startedwell here the engines were not running but i still had to turn on the FMC again and even then i wasnt able to input the flightplan data correctly (the problem is that when i chooose a sid / rwy / transition it wouldnt add it to the flightplan... only the chosen runway is being added)So please help me by telling me whats the best method to pushback this beast.Thank you so much.Greg Oliver.
September 20, 200916 yr It sounds like you have not started the APU which will give everything power prior to the main engine start ups. Ground/terminal power is fine for inputting route info etc, but when it comes to pushback, the APU needs to be started. Also, when you are ready for pushback, if you look at the comms panel, there is a section there for pushback. Right click on the RST button and you can program how far and what angle you need. For further info, look in the manual or try some of the tutorials.Cheers,Russell

September 20, 200916 yr Greg,If you're going to park in a spot that requires pushback, you're pretty much committed to a battery start, and you won't be able to fire up the FMS until after engine start. With practice, you can get pretty quick at selecting a saved flight plan and adding assigned SIDs and STARs, so you're not wasting too much fuel after engine start. If you look at real world regional turboprop operations, at least in the US, the aircraft isn't often parked in a spot that requires a pushback, undoubtedly because it's cheaper for the airline to operate that way. If you pick a spot at the end of a concourse, or an outlying spot near the terminal, you'll probably be able to taxi right out of parking, and that's closer to how it's done in real life most of the time. September 20, 200916 yr I never use the Portable Generator Trailer thing. I just start the engines, program the FMS, start the avionics, etc, and then pushback with the engines. I have programming the FMS down to a science now so it is not hard at all to accomplish. Can all be done in under 10 minutes from the time the last engine stabilizes at 72% RPM. If you are using the power trailer though what you have to do is load the avionics, program the FMS, and then turn them off for the pushback. Then once you start the engines again everything will be loaded as it was before you turned it off. I saw that during the tutorial flight. There's a few different ways to accomplish it. I just find doing it with the engines is the easiest for me. Steve Jordan Aviation Structural Mechanic SH-60B/HH-60H/MH-60R/MH-60S USN FSX Hours: 3000 and counting
September 20, 200916 yr Thank you so much friends. One last question though. How do i initiate a AHRS alignment ?Thank you so much for you helpgreg
September 20, 200916 yr I think you'll only see the AHRS alignment on powering up from a cold and dark state. Otherwise, the controls on the panel are not modelled. Dan Downs KCRP
