September 21, 200916 yr Hi,I use Traffic 2005 and overall I am happy with my AI but I would like to add a few extra flights but am struggling to get my head around how the AI works.i have seen there are 3 text files, flightplans.txt airports.txt and airlines.txt which get complied to make up the overall traffic.bgl.But I have also seen there is a seperate folder called "flightplans" which holds txt files with all the airlines names. Can someone tell me what these files get used for and if they can be edited directly, how do you complie them into the traffic.bglIt looks a lot easier to add some more flights to the Cathay pacific.txt etc... rather than editing the main flightplans.txt which is huge and messy?thanks

September 21, 200916 yr Author hi,thanks for that link, I have had a look through it but cannot find any info on the flightplans folder and the individual airlines text files in it. It all describes the main flightplan.txt file but not the individual ones?
September 21, 200916 yr hi,thanks for that link, I have had a look through it but cannot find any info on the flightplans folder and the individual airlines text files in it. It all describes the main flightplan.txt file but not the individual ones?Guess I am not understanding what you mean by "flightplans folder".There are three main compents to any traffic file:airports.txtaircraft.txtflightplans.txtThe names may be longer but each will contain those names. What exactly is it that you are having problems with? :(
September 21, 200916 yr Author Hi,I have those 3 files.I also use Traffic 2005 from just Flight and those 3 txt files are held in the traffic 2005 folder within FS9.Also, in the Traffic 2005 folder is another folder called "Flightplans". Inside this folder is about 150 txt files, one for each different airline. When I open each file, it looks like proper flightplans, very similar to the main flightplan.txt file.Im confused how these are used in conjunction with the main flightplan.txt as it looks easier to edit the smaller "airline" flightplans rather than the huge main one.Basically I am trying to generate more traffic for Kai Tak and it would be easier to duplicate flights held in the Cathay Pacific.txt file (as I can copy the lines that say VHHH and change to VHHX) rather than trying to add more flights to the main one, but im not sure if it will work or how to get the changes into the game?I hope this makes sense.
September 22, 200916 yr Here is an easier way, grab these Cathay Pacific Flightplans from AVSIM and use Lee Swordy's Traffic Tools to compile the flight plans to the proper place in your FS9 install. Supporter GhostRecon.net | AGgReSsion WhiteKnight77's Place Mike Shannon
