hi,In fs9 when you toggle the views with the S key, you can get the VC panel followed by the 2D panel. In FSX it is either one or the other depending on the view selection in the menu. Is it possible to make fs x work as fs9?Thank you

Not that I know of... you need to use the 'A' key to switch between 2D and VC.

No, but then why would you want to? Isn't F9 for the VC and F10 for the 2d much more convenient?

I had forgotten that the A key could do the trick.Why: I have just downloaded the FSX version of an FS9 aircraft in which some important gauges , switches and lights are not implemented in the VC. I need them to fly this aircraft by the book especially on landings and I don't want to loose time when selecting views with my mouse.cheers

F9 - Instant VC ViewF10 - Instant 2d Panel ViewNeither requires selecting view with your mouse.

hi,well the F9, F10 have no effect on the view selection. I saw them work just a few times then nothing, whereas the A key works all the time. Very strange.While trying the view changes , at some point without explanation, the FSX menu bar disappeared leaving me with no option other than quitting FSX!!! even more puzzling!!!any idea?

The 'ALT' key toggles the menu.The 'A' key and 'SHIFT-A' key cycles between 2D and VC.

Press and HOLD the ALT key to regain the top menu.Unless you've changed the standard.xml file and/or the cameras.cfg file, your F9 and F10 keys should work (although sometimes it might take a moment to switch).

I just loaded FSX and confirmed:HOLD the ALT key to hide the menu... PRESS the ALT key to show the menu.

At least I will be slightly less stupid...I have learned something today.I have checked the standard file (which I did not know it existed) and the camera file (which I had never opened) and everything is OK. Nevertheless, the F9 key does nothing. I suspect the installation of the track IR software of overuling the F9 control for the VC since it enables Track IR. Do you think it is possible or is it another stupid idea of mine?cheers

You just answered your question. Either live with it, or reconfigure Track IR to use a different key (such as F12 which defaults to "Top Down" view.
