September 25, 200916 yr I want to break the default FSX traffic BGL down into somthing I can edit so as to remove items that duplicate the World of AI traffic I have installed. In FS9, I'd have used Traffic Tools but I don't believe that's ever been updated for FSX.Not wanting to end up with corrupt BGL's that give me CTD's, I suppose the first question is, can i use Traffic Tools if I re-direct folder information from FS9 to FSX?If that doesn't work, is there another tool that does a similar thing?

Seems to me to be a lot of work when WOAI can just do it all by itself. What I did was put the default air craft in seperate folder ( if you fly the defaults then don't bother) - I only fly addon planes. Only have in my airplane folder the Cessna 172, Mooney,Air creations,Grumman Goose and WOAI aircraft. Thats my choice everyone is different - unless you want to experiment and see how things work then I would leave it up to WOAI - much better. Some will do it diff than me and I may find something I like in the answers.Don't forget th backups.Take a look at FP_FS9_FSX.exe by Peter van der Veen (google), it opens FSX bgl's . :( Denis
September 25, 200916 yr The default traffic is not realistic - all the flights are completely imaginary, many fantastical! So, none duplicate the World of AI flights.Probably the best tool for decompiling airplane traffic files is presently AI Flight Planner by Don Grovestine:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...&CatID=rootI have used it to take apart the default file and replace the aircraft with more frame-rate friendly models, so that there is traffic at all the airports (a whole lot of them!) that are not covered by third-party packages such as World of AI or others. It is a lot of work, but gives good results.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
September 25, 200916 yr Author I understand the flights aren't too hot that's why I have replaced the whole thing with WoAI packages. That includes executive jets and turboprops but the one thing they don't have is small private aircraft: Cessnas, Beech Barons, that sort of thing. So I thought I'd have a look at the text files & see if there is anything worth cutting out & keeping. I'll have a look at the link, thanks for providing it.
September 25, 200916 yr I agree you should be using AI flight Planner. Support is here:http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=100scott s..
September 26, 200916 yr Author Have downloaded it: looks quite sphisticated compared to dear old Traffic Tools! All I need to do now is remember where I put the default FSX traffic BGL so I can see what's in it!
