September 28, 200916 yr Hi there,I've got ASX and was wondering if I can use REX2 with it. Can ASX connect to REX and install Wx-infulenced textures like it does with ASG?Cheers 🛫
September 28, 200916 yr Moderator Hi there,I've got ASX and was wondering if I can use REX2 with it. Can ASX connect to REX and install Wx-infulenced textures like it does with ASG?CheersAre you talking about ASX or ASA?If ASX - the answer is no.If ASA - yes and no. :)ASA has the ability to save different weather scenarios from ASG, REX, FEX, etc. So, lets say you have a really cool foul weather scenario using REX that you really like - save it in ASA and next time you have that type of weather, select it and it will get loaded.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

If the two can't be linked whats the best way of using textures from REX2 and the weather engine from ASX. Do i load up textures from REX2, close it and then start up ASX?Thanks 🛫

I was not aware that ASA can use REX themes and has the impression that I had to use REX first to install the appropriate textures and then start ASA to use the textures. SO, how could I ever save a REX theme with ASA? A short instructions for dummies would be highly appreciated.Phil Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

It's that simple. RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

Start ASA - use the GRAPHICS icon which will take you to a screen where you can save the snapshot (theme) with a specific name and assign it to a weather related group. Then, in the future, you go to that same screen and load that saved snapshot in ASA and go fly. that's about it - ASA will now use the REX theme that you have loaded to depict the current weather.HTH,Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

Or can I define more than 1 theme for different weather situations? Possibly for conditional use by ASA dependent on the actual weather?Phil Phil Leaven i5 10600KF, 32 GB 3200 RAM, ASUS 4070 12GB EVO, Asus ROG Z490-H, 2 WD Black NVME for each Win11 (500GB) and MSFS (1TB), Rolling Cache 16GB, Photogrammetry always OFF, Live Weather and Live Traffic always ON, Res 2560x1440 on 27"

Once FSX is loaded however, you can not change themes - which is the way it's always been.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

December 8, 200916 yr Moderator My snapshots (my REX themes) are select manually by user or are select Auto from ASA wx-engine ????You must select the snapshots manually. ASA will only auto select wx influenced themes if you are using XGraphics.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
December 8, 200916 yr Hi,You can only auto-generate Snapshots by using X Graphics, but if you have taken snapshots and defined them to the weather categories, then you can use the Wx Influenced option of ASA. Process a flight plan and you should be asked by ASA if you wish to install a snapshot for that plan. Once the snapshots are made ASA doesn't "care" what textures they are!Make sure that each of the snapshots has the "Enable selected snapshot for Auto Select" box checked On.Let us know if you need more help with this. Thanks,

You tell me that if I elaborate a flight plan with the ASA, automatically it use my snapshot for the best weather condition with the option "Enable selected snapshot for Auto Select"
December 10, 200916 yr Hi,OK, let's take this in steps:1. Load some textures in FSX using REX. Keep FSX closed.2. In ASA use the Take New Snapshot Icon on the Graphics Screen.3. Name the Snapshot4. Assign the Snapshot to a weather category.5. Repeat #1-4 until you have a number of Sanpshots in each category. 3-4 in each is a good amount.6. Now when you process a plan you'll be asked if you wish to install textures and you'll answer OK, or if you don't, Cancel.7. Start FSX and fly! Thanks,
