HELP!FSX Freezes Fixed

Featured Replies

Although I had 39 views to my CTD post, I had no responses. Over time, however, I was able to fix the problem and thought posting that fix may help others. I learned from other posts how to delete my FSX.CFG and text file from my Documents and Settings, etc. file, restart FSX and allow it to rebuild those files. As FSX was loading, it would ask me if I wanted Acceleration to set my assignments(I do have Acceleration),I clicked "yes", and it asked me if I wanted to load the newest FSUIPC,to which I also clicked "yes". The fatal error message continued to occur. The most recent time, however, I just took a chance and clicked "no" to loading the most recent FSUIPC. Amazingly, no more fatal error message and all is well. I am not savvy enough to know why this fixed the problem, but I'll take the end result. Hope this is helpful to someone else.Bob K.

Of course, now you've simply side-stepped the problem, which is a defective installation of FSUIPC...Solution: uninstall FSUIPC and reinstall the latest version, letting the installer do all the work...

Hi, I tried what you suggested. Nothing works..FSX still freezes after 10 seconds of starting it. I had this problem since yesterday..any suggestions? I miss FSX already :(

Thanks for the response. I checked my FSX module folder and I do have FSUIPC 4.4 installed. Again, I do not understand how my problem was first created nor do I fully understand how it got fixed. When I checked the install history in the module folder, it seems upon the re-build, not only was the FSX.CFG re-built, but the FSUIPC was also. When starting up FSX,however, the program does not seem to recognize that and asks me again if I want to install it. When I accepted, then the program freezes when starting a flight. When I click "no", the program works fine. Possibly installing over an already installed FSUIPC creates the conflict. I really don't know. I'm just happy I am back to flying again. All seems well. Bases upon what I have presented, do you still recommend that I uninstall FSUIPC and do another fresh re-install? Bob K.

The latest version of FSUIPC is 4.5.3! Download from here: http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.htmlJust run the installer. It will replace your existing FSUIPC4.DLL file.Prior to installation you might manually delete the file FSUIPC4.ini from your Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Modules to make sure that you get a fresh ini file. The old one might be corrupt.

Well,I did all of what you suggested but FSX still freezes if I run FSUIPC. What am I missing if I don't run it at FSX start-up? FSX seems to be running fine without me running FSUIPC. Bob K.

Probably you got FSUIPC installed with some add on and that add on won't work OK without FSUIPC loaded.Have you tried to remove your fsx.cfg file and let FSX build a new one?

Also, at another forum I was directed to Pete Dowsen's forum re:FSUIPC and the man himself is working with me to ID the problem. I'll come back here to post any help I might get. Bob K.
