should just click and drag for an outlining range... like in Paint or on Desktop to define a range. Then press zoom. Keep it relatively square or you get distortion.A selected region without pressing the zoom button is also a "delete target range"... careful!Loyd

Hey Loyd, it takes ages to load the GUI window for the cache manager, sometimes 5 minutes at least. Is this normal? Also, I tried clicking and capturing an area, got some values in the box, but when I pressed "zoom in", nothing happened.Do you have any ideas ?Cheers, Mark

If you've got a lot of images cached or your drive is very fragmented, it can take ages.IAN

1. Yes it takes a while... 5 minutes is not unusual (in my experience) for a large and/or fragmented cache to be accessed for several hundred thousand files.2. The caches appear in the cache manager list window in the same order as found in the detail sections of your ini. Keep the active detail section (that's the one that will load on startup) above any others so you don't have to load a different cache to see what you really want.3. I thought I would compare the Windows "folder properties" function to the cache manager loading (since this can take a while also to go through 1000 folders to count files, etc.). I did the check on my south Europe cache and it took 4:10 to complete and report 369,351 files in 1000 folders. Following that operation, the cache manager (much to my surprise) loaded that same cache folder in 10(!) seconds - I expected 4-5 minutes like normal.Apparently the properties information (whatever it may contain) does not disappear when the window is closed. A second request for the same information with a fresh window was completed in about 3 seconds... ya learn something new every day! I guess having that information "on tap" saves the cache manager from having to do exactly the same thing again.4. my cache manager proceduresa. loadb. adjust the min/max tile values for the range I want to see. file number and size will change as you change these limitsc. select a range. file numbers and total size will change with the area selected if tiles are excluded from the selection range.d. you can select different ranges and see differing counts and sizes until you finally click zoom.e. it SHOULD expand the selection area to the window size. The background image is low res and not precisely scaled so you can't use that to see if you have tiles all the way to the coast (for instance). I notice tiles in the northern latitudes are generally represented a little more north than their actual location. This used to bug me but I rarely use the cache manager now except for overview or occasional cleanup. That's the way it works for me, anyway.Loyd
