October 12, 200916 yr I've done something to make the Milky Way look too large and pixelly...instead of looking faint in the distant sky, it looks like it is just outside of my window, but enhanced / blown-up about 25x. All of the other graphics look great. Anyone have any recommendations? Is there a way to simply remove the milky way itself (bmp file?)Thanks

October 13, 200916 yr The Milky Way is not contained in the stars.dat file, but rather is an "object" whose texture can be found in the Scenery\Global\Texture directory - try looking for MilkyWay_lm.dds (an obvious choice for the name!) Unsurprisingly, the daytime variant of the texture is a small, fully transparent image.Probably there is nothing wrong with that texture in your installation. I would instead consider Jeff's alternative that sounds more reasonable.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

How have you been?To answer the question, I fly in VC, but the pixelly view is there either inside or out of the VC. I use trackir as well. Is there a way to repair this file if it somehow became corrupt?
October 13, 200916 yr Nice to see you around - you should stop by more often. This is a strange problem, because there is not really any reason for it to occur. Could you please show a screenshot or two that illustrates the pixellation?Generally, if a file is damaged, you can just delete it and run the Repair option from the original installation disk.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!

I photoshopped the second image so that you could see the pixellation better.Images over 200K file size deleted
