October 25, 200916 yr Is there a descent way to predict the runway for landing. I use ASA and I can view wind directions. I can be easy to predict the runway then. Sometimes there are only a few runways, for eg EGLL. But how about an airfield with a lot af runways, for eg EHAM? There are runways in all directions and it is not always clear to me what runway to use based on wind directions. Is there a way to know during preflight? Air traffic control is really late by announcing the runway. Martin Martin Pampiermole
October 25, 200916 yr If your ATC is really late in announcing the active runway do you have DWC (direct wind control) checked in the ASA options screen? Uncheck it forthwith, if not sooner. You should be getting notification of the active in your initial wx briefing from ATIS--provided your desired airport offers this service.I do not know of any way to get the info during preflight though. October 25, 200916 yr As in real life, you can not predict the runway you'll be landing on before you actually get there. Winds may change, or something else may occur that will change runways. If you're about 100 miles out and ATC hasn't announced what runway the airport is currently using, I usually tune ATIS of the airport on COM2 and listen for what runway(s) they announce. - Red E8500 @ 4.1 | EVGA 275GTX (overclocked) | 2x2GB Mushkin Enhanced Redline @ 1066 | Samsung 24inch LCD @ 1920x1080 |

That will give you a good guestimate. Regards, Dave Opper HiFi Support Manager
