Mytraffic 2010

Featured Replies

Just did fresh install of FSX, bought and installed UTX but did not add any AI aircraft, my favorite is WOAI. My first question, is the reason my FSX AI traffic (aircraft carriers off of HI. Add on FSX files, harbors, marinas, etc) disappear after I install my first WOAI file because of FS9 bgl files verses FSX type traffic.bgl files? . My second question is, will Mytraffic 2010 do the same, and of course what do you folks think of Mytraffic 2010 verses other AI software. Last question is, if you had $200 what addons would you buy?

Regarding your first question - I believe the WOAI forums strongly suggest that you use a flightplan converter if you use their packages in FSX as FS9 plans can be read but FSX will only read one type or the other (not both at the same time) and that is what causes FSX traffic to "disappear".I use AI FLIGHT PLANNER by Don Grovestine as it has a very easy to use conversion tool.

$200 buys some decent controller hardware. Start with a good joystick, TrackIR, rudder pedals, and throttles, maybe a panel (although all of those at once are much more than $200). The past few Reviews I have written, I end up saying that the product flies as good as your controllers are able. Add-ons have gotten so good, you will notice a difference flying with high end controls versus dollar store crud. Jeff ShylukSenior Staff ReviewerAVSIM

The converter I was using is "FSX Flight Plan Compatibility checker and Converter by Peter Van der veen"I think I may not get Mytraffic 2010, but down load WOAI (which I was happy with except for the fs9-fsx issue) using Grovestine's conversion. Do you know where I might find this file with AVSIM being temp. down?

I must say I was very shocked when I read your response jshyluk. I never considered hardware!!! I am using a Logitech Extreme 3D pro stick and never thought about upgrading hardware. What do you think of Pro Flight rudder pedals and the Pro Flight yoke system?

I was not aware that the two conflicted (WofAI and UT2). So you are saying that converted fp's will conflict or they won't if you use the right program? I can't remember which program I used in the past for my pre-UT2 traffic. It was probably something that was released in the early days of FSX.Funny, I would have thought that WofAI's stuff would be FSX compatible if the installer worked with FSX.I don't really care about the having appropriate legs, I just want all of the traffic visible. Having UT2, I was planning on using WofAI and converted FS9 stuff to fill in the blanks.

MyTraffic2010 is the same as MyTrafficX. If you go onto the MyTrafficX website's forum, the developer explains the differences.http://forums.simflight.com/viewforum.php?f=4Best regards,Jim
