  1. First off let me apologize if this is not the right Forum, but it looked like the most appropriate. The new flight sim that is on the way for some reason looks a lot like X,(clouds, water, trees, ETC.) I just cannot see the big difference. Now on different blogs I get the feeling it’s going to be more a game then a SIM. (The one thing i did not like about X was the Flying races thing, they should have put more time and effort into the realism and looks of the SIM.) I am willing to spend more money on a better product then the same 75 to 90 for the same crap that you have to then go out and buy vast amount of add ons to make it look decent! Does anybody own this following product? http://www.prepar3d.com/If so what do you think of it? yes its 500 but heck with my add ons to x i may have 300 or 400 in it, and yes it does look like its an x plat form but if you buy the new one and add on the extras your into that much any way.
  2. my friends now I am so confused!!so you are saying I should get a NVIDIA 8800 for better frame rates rather then a 9800gt.
  3. The 9800GT will work out better, after relooking at my pci slot, I will not be able to shift any cards down to make room for the 260, that and the fact that the specs on the 9800GT says it only needs a 400 watt power supply (thats what I have) and of course the cost!
  4. Thats good News! I must of misread the info on the 260. I just need to shift a card down and it should go in, and of course get a bigger power supply. Thanks!
  5. I had the same thing happen to me, as FSX would load to the new airport, no matter what plane I had, it would start to taxi forward, To stop this, as it loaded I would have to keep the brake on the joy stick to keep it from going forward. I just did a fresh install of FSX and no longer have this happen. It seems to me It started after doing an aircraft down load, can not remember what aircraft or what site. I am thinking what ever same aircraft or site we downloaded from it changed the values in the default aircraft. Sorry I can not be more help then that.
  6. Great call on both the power supply and the size of the card!! allmost got in trobule! My power supply is only 400 watts and 16 amps and from what I read it needs 18 amps. my computer will not hold the 260 as i only have 1 PCI slot and the card requires 2. thanks agine for all the help, I guess I need to post my problem on the hardware forum and see if anybody can suggest a newer video card that will fit in only one PCI slot.as always thanks for all the help!!
  7. Thank you all for all the great advice!!!I think what I will do is get a GTX 260 card and hope for the best when I install GTX and My Traffic 2010, right now my frame rates in large airports and cities is 6 to 8 and in smaller towns around 16 to 20, I sure do want to improve that!!
  8. Thanks for the help in seeing the Frame rates! Gives me some place to start. This is what I have nowAMD Athlan 64x2 dual core 6000+ 3.00GHZ2 GB ramOS Vista 32 bit500 GB hard driveGE Force 8500 GT video cardFSX AccelerationUTXIs my processor just not powerfull enough to stop the stuttering or would adding more Ram and a newer Video card help, I have both GTX, and My Traffic 2010, on the way, should get here in a few days. I guess what I am asking is do I have what it takes to run MT2010, GTX and UTX if I add ram and new video card or do I need to start hinting to my wife about a faster computer (or a new motherboard) for Christmas!
  9. How do I know what my actual frame rates are when flying? I keep reading about folks saying there frame rates going up or down by X amount, is it on the screen somewhere and I'm just missing it? Right now I have a GeForce 8500 GT video card and am thinking about upgrading to a BFG GeForce GT 220 because of stuttering problems at bigger airports, especially at night, (Miami, ATL. Etc.)Would the stuttering be due to my frame rates dropping and would a faster video card help? I have my frame rates set to unlimited, but I do not see a difference between say 20, 40 or unlimited. I also have UTX USA, with intersection night lights turned on (other night lights turned off) and Vech. traffic at 15% Thanks for any help!

If you are looking for a file that slows down the ground vehicles to a more realistic speed, fuel trucks, fire trucks etc. That file is in fact out there, becuse I remember down loading it, and sure could use it now, as I just did a fresh install of FSX.
  11. Does that stand true for AI Aircraft to, as far as being native (certified) FSX model or a FS9 model?swampwolf
  12. I think Jim in the above reply said it best when he said "It IS sort of confusing isn't it?" I guess I will in the end get the My traffic 2010 box version. I do still think that its odd that they should mention the not very active thing at all, with out some sort of explanation!?Thanks for all the good info! swampwolf
  13. If you go to the Aerosft My Traffic 2010 site http://www.aerosoft.com/cgi-local/re/iboshop.cgi?showd,,11038 that is where it says "This enormous number also counts on the fact that My Traffic 2010 is not "very active" in North America and Western Europe - You can also explore every part of the world and find airlines you`ve never heard of before. " I guess I am kind of old fashioned as whenever I buy any sort of program I allwas get the disk and not the down load version, did I read it wrong? but it looks like Mytraffic x v5.2 is $57 and then add another $26 for the disk version Tot. Is $83 that is a little more then I wanted to pay. The sim market.com site was very informative and I thank you for that! At the very end he outlined the difference between Mytraffic lite2010, 2010, and of course Mytraffic x v5.2, down and dirty good stuff! Thank you both for your help in this very confusing matter!!!
  14. I am going to get My Traffic 2010, The one thing that bothers me and I have ask on other Forums but with no straight forward reply, on the My Traffic Web site it says My Traffic 2010 is not very active in North America and Western Europe. (That's where I fly!!) What does this mean? Is there semi realistic AI traffic in those countries? Not so much realistic scheduling etc. but just numbers of aircraft parked taking off and landing. Also on the My Traffic 2010 web site it is going for $49.00 does anybody know of a cheaper site for the boxed version?
  15. Ultimate Traffic 2 has 6000 airports with traffic, has great reviews on this Forum, but has no military traffic. My Traffic 2010 has Military and charter flights with 8200 airports; I want to go with My Traffic. My only hesitation is on its site it says My Traffic 2010 is not very active in North America and Western Europe. (That's where I fly!) Maybe somebody can explain what that means!! Only 5 Delta flights at Katl and nothing else? Or what! The last thing is My Traffic changes the default bgl files for some airports to accommodate the AI traffic, I am a fan of AFCAD files by Smith, can you change the My Traffic Files to more Improved Airfields downloaded from AVSIM, I don't know.
