October 27, 200916 yr I just purchased a trackir 5 and set to run on default. Looks up and down, left and right just fine. Looks up right 45 degrees and up left 45 degrees and down right 45 degrees fine but when I try to look down left 45 degrees it freezes and green light goes out. I've tried to adjust the camera and different angles but never could get it to look down 45 degrees left. Zoom works fine. Any help will be appreciated. Regards Lamar Wright
October 27, 200916 yr This is a common issue. I have all axis turned off except left/right, Up/down. Anything else is overkill unless I'm flying an open air tail dragger where I need to look over the side of the aircraft. The best attachment to use for TrackIR 5 is the clip that hooks up to your earphones. You can move the extension out or in and press F12 to adjust your head versus sim position. You'll find until things are adjusted properly it's almost impossible to look back. I haven't tried the default hat clip as that didn't look like it would work right out the box so I knew ahead of time to go for the other option. In the default config manager you need to play around and find the options that make finer adjustments. Sometimes turning some things up and testing it via the testing options helps you find that sweet spot. For the record when I first got TrackIR 5 I put the whole thing up until I made myself take a closer look. The biggest thing for me was shutting down those extra axis so my head didn't break through the bulk head with the slightest turn of my head. If you play around with some things and get that headphone attachment I'm sure you'll find the sweet spot that works for you.
