MD-11 Crashes during 20 second initialization

Featured Replies

New problem, when I load the MD11 and the loading screen gets to 100%, the scenery is displayed, I get to see the MD11 main panel (with 3 black screens because it's initializing), I see the 20 second bar in top and when it reaches 19s, the simulator goes dark for a few seconds, Vista (64 bit edition) tells me that FS2004 has encountered a crash and FS2004 restarts. So the whole sim goes black when the counter reaches 19s and crashes ONLY when I load the MD11, no problems whatsoever with the 747 or 737. I tried a full reinstall of the MD11 but exactly the same problem persists.EDIT: I have also installed the latest update and some liveries. my PMDGoptions.dll version is 1.3.5 and I have the latest FSUIPC 3.9.3.0. Request help.P. J

Maybe something wrong with the Microsoft Visual Studio runtime libraries. Both 32b and 64b libraries should have been installed by the pmdg installer. Try running a repair option with the installer. Be sure you run the installers as admin and pmdg folders have admin rights. I turn off UAC, but that is up to you. Please sign your full name in this forum.

I reinstalled it twice the way you suggested, but this did not solve the problem. Any other suggestions? Thanks.Petteri J

Maybe this: http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/PMDG_...h_To_Desktop.29The fact that the 747 works makes me think the FAQ suggestion is a dead end, but it is worth looking. Does your validation work okay during install? If your installer is downloaded, try downloading another copy. Meanwhile, drop an email to pmdg support and provide your order number and explanation. Be sure you get an automated response because no response means they didn't get your email. Finally, when you do get the problem sorted out please let us know in the forum what the trick was.

Thanks for your reply. The FAQ was of no use, unfortunately. My installer is indeed downloaded, I downloaded it again and followed the same procedures but I still experience the same problem. Could it be a problem with PMDGoptions.dll? Is there a newer version than 1.3.5?Could it be a problem with Vista 64 bit version? I'll send PMDG an email and I will try to remove some addons and see if it works. If you have any suggestion, though (ANY), please post them.EDIT: Deleting fs9.cfg didn't solve the problem. Thanks!Petteri J

Petteri, other than permissions and the nanny-UAC, all PMDG products work well with Vista32/64 and W7. I am out of ideas but there is a lot of experience here so check back in the forum occasionally.

I had this issue after installing addons. I removed the program via add/remove programs and reinstalled the package, then the navigraph data. It worked fine for me afterwards.
Could you name some addons you had installed?Petteri J

I had the same problem. Does your Load Manager work for the MD11? If not then it is Microsoft Visual Studio and possibly your microsoftnet frame version.Carl Perry 7year sim pilot

I reinstalled both. No effect, still have the same problem.Petteri J

Installed Vista SP2. No effect. Still the same problem. It's so weird, the plane loads, I see the panel for 2 seconds (I can access the PMDG menu and add fuel and change settings and stuff, no effect) and then my sim goes black and crashes. It seems that when the displays are about to lit up, the sim crashes. I would like some more suggestions please!Petteri J

Did you get an automated response from support? If not, you might want to try to send from a free gmail account.
