WOAI versus default AI

Featured Replies

Hi,My computer is not poweful enough to run FSX without big sacrifices. One of them is to have zero AI traffic. Do you think that WOAI is more FPS friendly than the default FSX AI?Thank you
WOAI is generally easier on FR than default aircraft - but if you are already struggling to run FSX, the use of WOAI for AI traffic is not going to make that much difference. What are your system specs? You may need to be thinking of a better system or perhaps running FS2004 instead.

hi,Thank you. In FS9 , I can have airports flooded with WOAI traffic without noticeable impact on FPS.I have upgraded my Nvidia video card and installed Nhancer. To my surprise I gained roughly 15 fps!!!. I immediately used them to add some WOAI traffic. It works fine. Ai traffic is a big FPS eater

When you use Default AI the jetways are automatically activated for all ai aircraft for 120 mile radius, so if you are in a dense area and large international airports, like say New York, you will see a drain in performance for at least a few minutes, while all the jetways engage. Worse as you fly over new areas the same thing happens. WOAI do not use jetways so you won't lose that initial performance lost. I would suggest though, unless you have C2D with a decent video card and memory, that you keep it to a modest level.

Thanks

Tom
