IRS stays in align mode

Featured Replies

Hello all,Ihave a problem with my MD-11. When starting from either "cold and dark" or "Training mode" of the panel choice, my IRS will stay in the align mode even after finishing its alignment. This only when I put it in realistic mode. In the 15 sec. mode it still works ok. Any suggestionsthanks in advance,Pieter

The realistic mode is a long time, but if the countdown is completed she should be okay unless you moved.

Thanks, Dan I know how long it takes. But after route shows up in PFD, the align lights should go out. It does not do this, even after 45 min aprox. and if I ignore them and start to move they start flashing. So please does anybody have an idea what is wrong. I already un- and reintalled the aircraft.rgds,Pieter

Hi Pieter It sounds like you entered a wrong or no IRS position. Did you check on the POS REF page on the FMS if the IRS position you entered is correct, If not !!!. re enter your IRS position on F-PLN INIT page. GreetingsMark

Pieter,Mark is correct. I had the same thing happen to me the other day and I failed to implement the items that Mark mentioned. After referring to the F-PLT Init page on the FMS, all worked perfectly.Regards, jack
