November 21, 200916 yr There are a couple of users reporting this problem, and I just gave it a try as well. Thanks for checking.Just tried a sucessful test reply in the "PMDG General Forum", no problem to report....Was it in a certain topic only ?
February 4, 201016 yr Dan: Sorry to hi-jack your thread, all will become clear as to why, as soon as i explain the problem, and you were a recognisable name that i know is sane enough not to launch into me for knackering your thread!Guys...I'm using Windows 7 32Bit, with Firefox 3.6 and i cannot start a new topic or do a 'full' reply, i can only type in a fast reply window...The pages appear for a new topic or a full reply, and if i have a quote in a full reply i can select text to highlight it, i just cannot type anything, or delete text. I have the same issue another forum that appears to use a similar forum plugin, but as yet nobody has been able to suggest a fix. I just ran a check for updates with firefox and i am informed that i have the latest release.Could somebody suggest the appropriate google string or a fix for this? I would like to avoid changing the browser if i can as i have tried most, and Firefox is by far my favourite other than this very annoying issue...CheersPaul Is there a way to auto ignore trolls, flamers and any post with a +1 in it here?
March 4, 201016 yr I am "fast replying" to this message, as I have the same experience.Win7 64 / Firefox 3.6A "New Thread", "Edit", and "Reply" window provides NO CURSOR for typing... while a "Fast Reply" window does. In the above listed problem sections, I can use the mouse to block-select any existing text, but I cannot manipulate it whatsoever, nor can I use cursor keys to move to different locations in the text block. If I switch to IE8, the problem is not present. I have also recently tried Google Chrome and Opera 10.50, and neither of those browsers experience the same issue. It would appear that the problem is with Firefox and this forum software, so hopefully there's been some investigating. Does anyone have any additional insights into this problem?================EDITING TO ADD:I have downgraded to Firefox 3.5.8, and this broken behavior had disappeared. It would appear that the forum software and FF3.6 are at odds with each other somehow. It didn't happen on every single post attempt, but it happened enough for me to check to see if others have reported it - and they have! Recommendation: If you are experiencing this issue, downgrade to Firefox 3.5.8 - it should work better for you!
