November 22, 200916 yr Hi,I just bought this last night and am having serious trouble with the J41 and have not been able to use it.Installed program with no problems, ran FSX - It only brings up the module acceptance for PMDG_BAe_JS4100.dll and PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3.dll - not PMDG_BAe_JS4100_2.dll. Activated on-line no problems. Started to load up and the CTD.I use Vista Ultimate 64bit and never had any problems with any other payware AC.I completely uninstalled the J41 using the install program, uninstalled all add-ons, unistalled FSX , and cleaned registry of all traces. Then reinstalled FSX with sp1 and sp2, then installed the J41 again. All installed correctly including the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable. It asked me at the beginning to accept the modules which I did and when asked to provide a key I put it in and it said it "activated successfully."It only brings up the module acceptance for PMDG_BAe_JS4100.dll and PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3.dll - not PMDG_BAe_JS4100_2.dll.I have reinstalled windows vista 32bit on a different machine with sp1 and 2 with FSX as above - SAME PROBLEM.So, I re-downloaded the J41 from my account and still the same goes on both machines after un-install and re-install. I do not overclock, I have a i7 cpu with 3 nvidia tri-SLI video cards in the 64bit machine with 12Gb of Ram and an ATI x850 (single) card in the 32bit one with 2Gb of Ram with a p4 3.2GHz cpu for the second one. Products shouldn't act like this, that you have to modify your entire system, but I gave it the benifit of the doubt.I tried the fsx.cfg deletion as well as renaming it and still same result.Again, It only brings up the module acceptance for PMDG_BAe_JS4100.dll and PMDG_BAe_JS4100_3.dll - not PMDG_BAe_JS4100_2.dll for acceptance for the modules. So as to experimenting with this to isolate the problem I found the 3 files in the gauges folder:PMDG_BAe_JS4100.dllPMDG_BAe_JS4100_2.dllPMDG_BAe_JS4100_3.dllI put them in an isolated folder and the plane (J41) worked with no guages.- Added the first file back (PMDG_BAe_JS4100.dll) and it said it failed activation, after canceling it started with about half of the gauges working. Added the next 2 separately and with the 1st. It seems that the 2nd file (PMDG_BAe_JS4100_2.dll) is the one stopping the program and CTD occurs. I hope this helps? Please help me? I stayed up just about all night to get the J41 working and this is happening every time on 2 different computers that ran FSX with add ons with no problems like this before.I hope you can help asap.Best Regards,Benny MIller
November 22, 200916 yr Benny,Have you installed the service update (http://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/pages/down/updates.html) for the J41?Ulf Bjarke
November 22, 200916 yr Maybe I'm forgetful, but the _2 dll does not invoke a run permission normally. I could be wrong. Getting a FSX crash on load points to a problem with the fsx dll.xml; maybe this helps: http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/How_t...SX_DLL.XML_File Dan Downs KCRP
November 22, 200916 yr Benny just a thought, did you install both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the C++ redistributables? George Morris
November 23, 200916 yr Author Hi All,No luck in getting the plane to come up.I have tried:"Benny,Have you installed the service update (http://www.precisionmanuals.com/priv/pages/down/updates.html) for the J41?Ulf Bjarke "I have the PMDG JS4100 for FSX VERSION v1.10.1016 installer - so even just to get this thing running I downloaded the patch and it said it was already installed and did I want to install update anyway - and I did and still the same." Maybe I'm forgetful, but the _2 dll does not invoke a run permission normally. I could be wrong. Getting a FSX crash on load points to a problem with the fsx dll.xml; maybe this helps: http://ops.precisionmanuals.com/wiki/How_t...SX_DLL.XML_FileDan Downs KCRP"I have fixed the DLL.XML file as described above. "Benny just a thought, did you install both the 32 and 64 bit versions of the C++ redistributables?George Morris"Yes it did install both on the 64bit system and the 32 on the 32bit system.I have installed all service packs and in between each one I re-booted and ran to make sure they all ran befor installing the PMDG J41.This is what happens on Intall:After install complete I ran FSX and selected plane:The the series of .dll's in this order:Then the activation screens occur and all seems well:Then - CTD everytime.Maybe I need the original installer and then apply the patch? Please help.Benny Miller
November 23, 200916 yr Try this: Do not load the J41 from the free flight screen. Load the FSX default flight and then change aircraft to the J41.Ulf Bjarke
November 23, 200916 yr Author Hi Ulf Bjarke,When I load the FSX default flight and then change aircraft to the J41 I hear is the sound of a click, then CTD. I shut down the engines in the default, then changed to the J41, it only came on 1 time but all the switches wouldn't work on the overhead and none of the glass screens came on.I then switched to the tutorial flight after shutting down in the default. As I turned on the middle button to the external power, checked the outside lights, turned them off, checked the right avionics - right side came on, and as I turned on the left avionics - CTD. I tried this again except with the left first - CTD every time. Can you load your plane from the beginning or do you have to go through the default first like I did? This is very frustrating at the least. Please help. Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter.Sincerely,Benny Miller
November 23, 200916 yr All your screen shots look perfectly normal. There seems to be about 1% of the purchasers who have a problem and so far the solutions are either not yet known or it involved running with admin rights, corrupt fsx dll.xml or a corrupt fsx sp2 patch, and a rare but possible corrput installer. I hope it helps. Dan Downs KCRP

No CTDs.Hope you get the problem solved.
December 1, 200916 yr I have the same exact problem, I am unable to select the aircraft from the free flight menu without a CTD. I just bought the product yesterday, and the only way to make it work is to load another aircraft, load the flight, then switch to the JS4100. I do not work if I load the tutorial flight.I have FSX acceleration with windows XP SP3. I have other addons such as the B747 pmdg, several aerosoft airport, Ultimate terrain, Ultimate Traffic 2, Active Sky Advanced (wich I do not use when I get CTDs), Super MD80, SF260, etc, etc.Any idea to be able to select the bird from the free flight screen?
December 6, 200916 yr I finally repaired FSX acceleration and reinstalled the JS4100 on advise of pmdg support, and now everything is back to order. August 27, 201015 yr same thing i ctd everytime i try to load the j41 pdmg. I once had this working i have it working on a seperate machine. PDMG needs to do something about this it's very frustrating and the 747 and md-11 work fine. It's only this product that seems to have this issue. Yes I probably could reinstall windows and and wipe everything, but really should i have to- to get one small addon to work. I hope they can find a patch because i'm not going to buy another PDMG product until they fix this bug.
